Usung Gagasan HMI Resilience M Nur Latuconsina Siap Bertarung di Kongres HMI XXXIII

by Muslim
written by Muslim

M Nur Latuconsina, a prominent figure within the Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI) and the current Chairperson for Labor Affairs of the organization’s Executive Board (PB HMI) for the 2024-2026 term, has officially declared his candidacy for the General Chairperson of PB HMI for the 2026-2028 period. The announcement took place during a formal gathering at Baileo Cafe in Ambon on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, marking a significant entry into the leadership race ahead of the upcoming HMI Congress XXXIII, which is slated to be held in Bandar Lampung.

Known among his peers as "Reno," Latuconsina’s candidacy is anchored in a strategic platform he describes as "HMI Resilience." This vision aims to navigate the organization through the complexities of a rapidly changing socio-political landscape. By positioning himself as a candidate of institutional reform, Latuconsina intends to shift the discourse of the HMI electoral process from mere political maneuvering to a substantive debate on the future direction of one of Indonesia’s largest student organizations.

The Strategic Vision of HMI Resilience

The "HMI Resilience" platform is not, according to Latuconsina, a superficial political slogan intended to win votes. Instead, he characterizes it as a comprehensive "blueprint for organizational renewal." The platform is built upon three foundational pillars that he argues are essential for the survival and relevance of HMI in the mid-21st century: intellectual vitality, the spirit of struggle (perjuangan), and institutional integrity.

Latuconsina emphasized that the first pillar—intellectualism—is the most critical. He proposes a fundamental overhaul of the HMI’s formal cadre training (perkaderan) curriculum. The current model, he suggests, must evolve to better bridge the gap between classical Islamic thought and the demands of modern science and technology. By integrating digital literacy, critical policy analysis, and advanced theological studies, Latuconsina hopes to produce graduates who are not only ideologically grounded but also technically equipped to address global challenges such as climate change, the digital economy, and labor rights.

Background and Context: HMI’s Role in National Discourse

Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam, founded in 1947, has long served as a training ground for Indonesia’s political, academic, and business elites. The organization has historically been a barometer for student activism in the country. However, in recent years, the organization has faced scrutiny regarding its relevance in an era dominated by social media and shifting student interests.

The upcoming Congress XXXIII represents a pivotal moment for the organization. As Indonesia approaches the latter half of the decade, the pressure on HMI to redefine its role in a democratic society is immense. The leadership chosen in Bandar Lampung will be tasked with steering the organization through the 2026-2028 term, a period likely to be defined by significant shifts in domestic policy and the ongoing digital transformation of the Indonesian workforce.

Latuconsina’s background as the Chairperson for Labor Affairs of PB HMI provides him with a unique vantage point. His work has focused on the intersection of student interests and the evolving labor market, particularly concerning the impact of automation and the gig economy on young graduates. This experience is expected to form the backbone of his policy proposals, specifically regarding how HMI can better serve as an advocate for student welfare and economic security.

Chronology of the Electoral Process

The declaration in Ambon serves as the starting point for a months-long campaign cycle leading up to the Congress. The timeline for the transition of power within PB HMI is strictly governed by the organization’s constitution and internal bylaws. Following the declaration, candidates typically engage in a series of regional dialogues and internal debates to socialize their visions among the various HMI branches (Cabang) across the archipelago.

Usung Gagasan HMI Resilience, Nur Latuconsina Siap Bertarung di Kongres HMI XXXIII

Historically, the HMI Congress is a high-stakes event characterized by intense negotiations and multi-layered coalition building. The process generally follows these stages:

  1. The Declaration Phase: Candidates officially announce their intent and vision (as seen with Latuconsina’s event in Ambon).
  2. Socialization Period: Candidates visit major regional branches to secure endorsements and discuss their platforms with local chapter leaders.
  3. Pre-Congress Deliberations: Formal discussions regarding the agenda, committee formation, and constitutional amendments.
  4. The Congress (Kongres XXXIII): The formal assembly where the voting takes place, involving hundreds of delegates from across the country.

Analytical Perspective: Challenges and Implications

Analysts observing the HMI leadership race suggest that Latuconsina’s focus on "resilience" is a direct response to the "institutional fatigue" currently felt by many student organizations. In an environment where political participation is increasingly fragmented, the ability of a leader to articulate a clear, modern identity for a historic organization is crucial.

However, Latuconsina faces significant hurdles. The HMI is a massive, decentralized body with diverse regional interests. Bridging the gap between the urban intellectual centers and the regional branches is a perennial challenge for any PB HMI chair. Furthermore, the critique of the "intellectual" pillar of his platform will likely center on the practicalities of implementation: how can a volunteer-based student organization successfully reform a curriculum that has remained largely static for decades?

If Latuconsina’s platform gains traction, it could signal a broader trend toward a more technocratic leadership style within Indonesian student movements. Rather than relying solely on the traditional rhetoric of "protest politics," future leaders are being pressured to demonstrate expertise in policy and organizational management.

Official Responses and Internal Dynamics

While the race is in its early stages, internal reactions to Latuconsina’s announcement have been largely focused on the substance of his "three pillars." Supporters argue that his experience at the national level (PB HMI) makes him one of the most qualified candidates to handle the transition. Conversely, observers note that the upcoming months will see a flurry of competing declarations, each offering different interpretations of the "renewal" that the organization requires.

For now, the focus remains on the specific proposals Latuconsina will bring to the table in the coming weeks. His call for a modernized curriculum and a renewed commitment to integrity is expected to resonate with younger members who are increasingly concerned about the organization’s future professional and political impact.

Broader Impact on Student Activism

The outcome of the Congress XXXIII will not only affect the HMI but will have a ripple effect on the landscape of Indonesian civil society. As a feeder organization for the nation’s leadership, the health and direction of the HMI serve as a mirror for the aspirations of the country’s youth.

As the race intensifies, the public and the media are likely to watch how the candidates handle the balance between tradition and innovation. Latuconsina’s "HMI Resilience" platform is essentially a bet that the organization can be saved by becoming more disciplined, more intellectual, and more integrated into the modern professional world. Whether the delegates at the Bandar Lampung congress agree with this assessment remains to be seen, but the declaration in Ambon has undoubtedly set a high bar for the discourse that will define the next two years of the organization’s history.

In conclusion, M Nur Latuconsina has successfully opened the dialogue on what it means for HMI to be "resilient" in the late 2020s. His campaign, by centering on the necessity of reform, has invited a critical examination of the organization’s purpose. As the road to Bandar Lampung continues, the candidate’s ability to turn his abstract pillars into tangible policy will be the ultimate test of his leadership potential. The coming months will be a critical period for all stakeholders involved, as the organization prepares for a transition that will shape the ideological and professional paths of thousands of students across Indonesia.

Prabowo Optimistic Merah Putih Village Cooperatives Will Drive Significant Economic Impact by 2027 Through Supply Chain Revolution

by Nana Wu
written by Nana Wu

JAKARTA — President Prabowo Subianto has expressed strong optimism that the widespread implementation of the Merah Putih Village and Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP) will begin delivering a tangible economic impact by 2027. Speaking during the "President Prabowo Menjawab" television and digital program on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the Head of State emphasized that these cooperatives are engineered to serve as the primary supply chain backbone connecting goods directly to grassroots communities.

The ambitious initiative aims to structurally overhaul Indonesia’s traditional distribution networks, which have long been plagued by inefficiencies, high logistics costs, and multi-layered middleman systems. By bypassing unnecessary intermediaries, the government seeks to achieve a dual objective: lowering consumer prices for essential commodities while simultaneously boosting profit margins for domestic producers, particularly smallholder farmers.

Current Realization and Implementation Timeline

While the long-term projections for the KDKMP program are grand, current implementation remains in its foundational phase. President Prabowo noted that as of mid-September 2026, approximately 6,000 units of KDKMP have been successfully established and operationalized nationwide.

Although this figure represents only a fraction of the total target needed to cover Indonesia’s tens of thousands of villages, the administration is aggressively scaling up the rollout. The President projected that the cumulative macro and microeconomic effects of the cooperatives will become prominently visible to the public within the next several months, culminating in a robust economic uplift spanning through late 2027 and 2028.

"And this effect will be felt, I believe, in a few months—perhaps by the end of 2027 or late 2028. This is roughly the timeline," President Prabowo explained during the broadcast, outlining the phased progression of the rural economic transformation.

Deconstructing the Inefficient Supply Chain Model

At the core of the KDKMP initiative is a direct assault on traditional supply chain bottlenecks that have historically penalized both agricultural producers and everyday consumers in Indonesia.

President Prabowo highlighted a stark structural flaw in the country’s current agricultural distribution ecosystem. Under the conventional model, agricultural produce harvested by farmers frequently changes hands multiple times before finally reaching the end consumer. According to governmental observations, a typical harvest must navigate up to five distinct intermediaries—ranging from local collectors, regional wholesalers, inter-island distributors, to secondary retailers—before landing on store shelves.

Prabowo Optimistis Efek Ekonomi Kopdes Merah Putih Mulai Terasa di 2027, Potong Alur Distribusi

Each intermediary in this convoluted chain extracts a profit margin for their services. Cumulatively, these layered markups can inflate final consumer prices by an astonishing 30 to 40 percent. Consequently, everyday citizens are forced to purchase basic food items at artificially inflated prices, while the actual producers—the farmers who bear the brunt of labor, weather risks, and capital investment—receive only a fraction of the retail value. This wealth drain has chronically suppressed rural incomes and widened the prosperity gap between urban centers and agricultural peripheries.

The KDKMP Solution: Streamlining Distribution

The Merah Putih Village Cooperatives are designed to act as a centralized, localized clearinghouse and distribution hub. By integrating the cooperative framework directly into the village ecosystem, the government aims to compress the multi-layered supply chain into a single, highly efficient tier.

Under the proposed KDKMP operational model, local farmers will supply their harvests directly to their respective village cooperatives. The cooperative then facilitates localized distribution or connects directly with larger consumer markets, effectively cutting out the sequence of redundant middlemen.

"With KDKMP, farmers deal with only one intermediary until the goods reach the consumer," Prabowo stated. "There is additional income for the farmer, but the consumer also enjoys lower costs. So this is roughly the core idea."

By trimming the fat from the distribution network, the saved margin is split beneficially: farmers secure higher take-home pay for their labor, while retail prices for staple foods are stabilized and made more affordable for working-class households.

Strengthening the National Economic Foundation at the Grassroots

The rollout of the KDKMP program does not stand in isolation. Instead, it forms a critical pillar within a broader, multi-sectoral national development strategy deployed by the Prabowo administration to fortify Indonesia’s economic foundations from the bottom up.

The government has deliberately anchored its current macroeconomic policy on grassroots empowerment, operating on the premise that national resilience begins with food security, energy independence, and localized economic self-sufficiency. Alongside the expansion of the Merah Putih cooperatives, the administration is simultaneously advancing several other strategic national programs. These include comprehensive food estate developments, renewable energy transitions, massive public housing initiatives, industrial downstreaming (hilirisasi) to maximize resource value domestically, and the nationwide Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis or MBG) program.

Economists and policy analysts note that synchronizing these programs creates a mutually reinforcing ecosystem. For instance, the demand generated by the Makan Bergizi Gratis program can be partially supplied by local agricultural outputs channeled through KDKMP networks, thereby locking in localized economic velocity and keeping capital circulating within rural economies rather than leaking out to metropolitan financial centers.

Prabowo Optimistis Efek Ekonomi Kopdes Merah Putih Mulai Terasa di 2027, Potong Alur Distribusi

Economic Implications and Expert Analysis

Financial analysts observing the KDKMP rollout suggest that while the conceptual framework holds immense promise, its ultimate success will hinge heavily on execution, transparency, and professional management at the village level. Historically, Indonesian cooperatives have faced structural challenges, including mismanagement, lack of professional governance, and capitalization hurdles.

To mitigate these historical risks, the administration has emphasized institutional supervision, digital integration for inventory and financial tracking, and capacity-building training for cooperative operators. If successfully executed, the reduction of logistics costs could play a significant role in dampening food inflation—historically a volatile component of Indonesia’s Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Furthermore, by injecting guaranteed liquidity and fairer pricing into the agricultural sector, the KDKMP initiative could serve as a powerful deterrent against urbanization, encouraging younger generations to remain in rural areas and engage in modern, profitable agribusiness ventures.

Outlook Toward 2027 and Beyond

As Indonesia moves deeper into 2026, the administrative apparatus is expected to accelerate both the physical establishment of new cooperative outlets and the regulatory frameworks required to protect cooperative members.

With approximately 6,000 units now operational, the government faces the monumental task of scaling this footprint to tens of thousands of villages nationwide. President Prabowo’s projection of a 2027 inflection point underscores the administration’s awareness that institutional and supply chain transformations require a gestation period before macro indicators reflect micro-level changes.

Should the KDKMP framework succeed in permanently dismantling the predatory middleman structures that have long dominated Indonesian agriculture, it could fundamentally rewrite the economic playbook for rural development, ushering in an era where village-level productivity translates directly into national prosperity.

Navigating Copyright in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Indonesia’s Legal Framework and the Human Element in Creative Works

by Asro
written by Asro

The rapid proliferation of generative artificial intelligence tools capable of producing high-resolution artwork, complex literary compositions, and sophisticated musical arrangements has ignited a global debate regarding intellectual property. As artists, developers, and enterprises increasingly incorporate algorithms into their creative workflows, courts and regulatory bodies worldwide are grappling with a foundational legal dilemma: Do outputs generated by artificial intelligence qualify for copyright protection? In Indonesia, the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) under the Ministry of Law has articulated a definitive stance. While autonomous AI-generated output remains unprotected, works that utilize AI strictly as a tool under substantial human guidance may secure legal safeguards, setting a nuanced precedent for the digital age.

The Legal Definition of Authorship Under Indonesian Law

At the heart of Indonesia’s regulatory approach is the foundational principle that copyright is inherently tied to human creation. According to Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright, an author is strictly defined as a human being. This statutory definition serves as the legal bedrock for the government’s current policy regarding synthetic media.

Apakah Karya AI Punya Hak Cipta? Ini Penjelasannya • Jagat Review

When a system operates autonomously—generating text, images, or code without direct human intervention beyond a basic initialization prompt—the output fails to meet the legal threshold of authorship. Consequently, purely autonomous AI creations reside in the public domain under Indonesian jurisdiction, lacking the exclusive commercial and moral rights afforded to human creators. This interpretation aligns with international intellectual property offices, including the United States Copyright Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office, which have similarly denied copyright registration to works lacking human authorship.

The Spectrum of Human Contribution: When AI Acts as a Tool

While autonomous generation is excluded from copyright eligibility, Indonesian regulatory authorities recognize that modern creative workflows frequently integrate advanced software. The crucial distinction lies in the extent of intellectual contribution made by the human operator.

If a creator utilizes artificial intelligence merely as an advanced brush or a drafting assistant, the resulting work may still enjoy full copyright protection, provided the human input is substantial. Legal experts and regulatory authorities evaluate several distinct milestones within the creative process to determine sufficient human contribution:

Apakah Karya AI Punya Hak Cipta? Ini Penjelasannya • Jagat Review
  1. Conceptualization and Prompt Engineering: The originality of the initial prompt, conceptual design, and structural planning formulated by the human creator.
  2. Iterative Direction and Editing: The extent of post-processing, manual corrections, structural alterations, and artistic curation applied to the raw AI output.
  3. Personal Expression: The injection of subjective human emotion, distinct personal style, and specialized editing that transforms the algorithmic output into a unique expression.
  4. Statutory Eligibility: Verification that the final composite work falls squarely within the categories traditionally recognized and protected under national copyright statutes.

Merely inputting a generic command into a generative model and accepting the unedited output does not fulfill these criteria. The human must remain the indispensable architect of the final expression.

Global and Domestic Chronology of AI Copyright Disputes

The intersection of generative AI and intellectual property rights has accelerated dramatically over the past several years, shifting from theoretical discussions to high-stakes legal battles:

  • 2022 to 2023: The explosive public release of commercial generative models, such as OpenAI’s GPT-4, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion, sparked a surge in user-generated synthetic content, overwhelming intellectual property registries globally.
  • Mid-2023: Major international courts began issuing landmark decisions clarifying that unedited AI output cannot be copyrighted, citing the absolute requirement of human authorship.
  • 2024 to 2025: Creators and media publishers globally initiated class-action lawsuits against major tech conglomerates, alleging the unauthorized harvesting of copyrighted literary, artistic, and musical works to train proprietary machine learning models.
  • 2026: Regulatory bodies, including Indonesia’s DGIP, stepped up efforts to formulate comprehensive legislative updates to address both output copyrightability and input data scraping.

The Emerging Regulatory Frontier: The Draft Copyright Law

Apakah Karya AI Punya Hak Cipta? Ini Penjelasannya • Jagat Review

Beyond the question of who owns the output of an AI model, regulators are increasingly focused on the input side of the technological equation. The practice of "data scraping"—wherein developers ingest massive volumes of copyrighted text, images, and code from the internet to train machine learning models without explicit authorization or financial compensation—has become a major point of contention for creative industries.

In response to these systemic challenges, the Indonesian government is actively developing comprehensive structural enhancements through the upcoming Draft Copyright Law (Rancangan Undang-Undang Hak Cipta or RUU HC). This legislative initiative aims to close existing regulatory gaps by addressing several critical areas:

  • Training Data Compliance: Establishing clear statutory norms that require commercial AI developers to secure explicit licenses and provide fair financial compensation to copyright holders whose works are utilized in training datasets.
  • Statutory Status of AI-Assisted Works: Codifying explicit evidentiary standards to determine the exact threshold of human intellectual contribution required for a hybrid work to secure registration.
  • Mandatory Transparency and Labeling: Enforcing strict labeling mandates for commercial entities and content creators to transparently disclose when digital media has been substantially generated or altered by artificial intelligence.

Economic and Industrial Implications for Creators

The ongoing evolution of copyright policy carries profound implications for Indonesia’s creative economy, which contributes significantly to the national GDP through software development, graphic design, advertising, and digital publishing.

Apakah Karya AI Punya Hak Cipta? Ini Penjelasannya • Jagat Review

For commercial enterprises and independent creators alike, the lack of copyright protection for autonomous AI output introduces notable financial risks. Businesses that rely on unedited generative models to produce marketing assets, logos, or software code may find themselves unable to legally prevent competitors from duplicating or utilizing those exact assets, as the material cannot be legally claimed as proprietary intellectual property.

Conversely, legal certainty surrounding AI-assisted human creation empowers local creators to safely adopt cutting-edge software to boost productivity without sacrificing their legal protections. By positioning artificial intelligence as a sophisticated tool rather than a legal rival, policymakers aim to foster technological innovation while simultaneously safeguarding the livelihoods of human artists and writers.

Outlook and Future Trajectory

As artificial intelligence systems continue to advance in complexity and autonomy, the boundary between human creativity and machine generation will inevitably face further scrutiny. Indonesia’s regulatory framework reflects a balanced approach: safeguarding the foundational principle of human authorship while remaining flexible enough to accommodate technological integration within professional workflows.

Apakah Karya AI Punya Hak Cipta? Ini Penjelasannya • Jagat Review

For creators operating within this transitional landscape, understanding the legal distinctions between autonomous generation and human-directed AI utilization is essential. Ensuring that human intervention remains the decisive factor in the creative process is not only the key to securing statutory copyright protection in Indonesia, but also the vital practice that preserves the authenticity of human expression in an increasingly automated world.

Pos Indonesia Warns of Potential Logistics Disruptions Amid Escalating Volcanic Activity Across Indonesia

by Rifan Muazin
written by Rifan Muazin

Pos Indonesia, officially operating as PosIND, has issued a formal advisory warning that ongoing volcanic activity in various regions of Indonesia is posing significant threats to the nation’s logistics and supply chain networks. The state-owned enterprise, which handles an average of six million shipments per month, highlighted that the primary concern lies in the vulnerability of air transport corridors. As seismic and volcanic tremors continue to impact air quality and visibility, several regional airports face the risk of temporary closure, which would inevitably lead to flight cancellations, rescheduling, and a reduction in available cargo capacity for both domestic and international postal services.

The potential for disruption is not merely speculative. Given Indonesia’s position on the Pacific Ring of Fire—a major area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur—the country’s logistics infrastructure is frequently tested by natural phenomena. When volcanic ash, which is abrasive and hazardous to jet engines, reaches cruising altitudes or settles on runways, aviation authorities are mandated to ground flights for safety. For a company like Pos Indonesia, which relies heavily on a combination of air, sea, and land transport, these groundings act as a bottleneck, forcing a recalibration of delivery timelines and operational strategies.

The Mechanics of Volcanic Disruption in Logistics

Volcanic ash consists of tiny, jagged particles of rock and natural glass. When ingested by aircraft engines, these particles can melt and coat turbine blades, leading to total engine failure. Consequently, the aviation industry operates under a zero-tolerance policy regarding flight through volcanic plumes. For logistics firms, this presents a domino effect. When a primary hub—such as those serving major metropolitan areas—is closed, the ripple effect extends to sorting centers, last-mile delivery fleets, and international transit connections.

Pos Indonesia operates a diverse range of international services, including EMS (Express Mail Service), ePacket, Pos Registered, and various international air and parcel export services. These services are meticulously timed to meet transit expectations. When the air bridge is severed, the company is forced to activate contingency protocols. Historically, the company has demonstrated resilience during such events. A notable precedent occurred during the 2014 eruption of Mount Kelud, which saw the closure of Juanda International Airport in Surabaya. During that period, Pos Indonesia successfully diverted high-priority shipments from air to ground, utilizing the extensive rail and bus network across Java to maintain service continuity.

Strategic Operational Adjustments

In response to the current escalation in volcanic activity, PosIND has mobilized its 24/7 "War Room," a centralized facility dedicated to real-time operations control. This hub is tasked with monitoring the status of all shipments and the environmental conditions affecting transportation corridors. The integration of advanced logistical technology, which the company has aggressively adopted over the past two years, plays a critical role in managing these crises.

According to the company’s 2024 annual report, the implementation of robotic sorting machines and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology at major processing centers, such as those in East Jakarta and Surabaya, has improved operational efficiency by 133% while reducing costs by 39% compared to legacy manual processes. These technological assets allow the company to reroute packages with higher precision. When a specific air route becomes untenable, the War Room assesses the feasibility of shifting cargo to alternative modes of transport, such as sea freight or long-haul road logistics, provided that such shifts do not compromise the safety of personnel or the integrity of the shipments.

Data-Driven Resilience and Global Reach

While the immediate concern is domestic transit, the international implications are equally significant. Indonesia’s export-import logistics depend heavily on international air cargo lanes. Any interruption at local airports can delay outbound shipments destined for international markets, potentially missing connection windows at global transit hubs. Pos Indonesia’s "Customs Declaration System" is currently being utilized to ensure that all documentation—including HS (Harmonized System) codes, item descriptions, and valuation data—is pre-cleared to avoid further delays once the logistics bottlenecks are resolved.

However, the company has been transparent in its communication to customers, noting that the estimated delivery times provided at the time of booking are subject to change. The company emphasizes that the processing time for international shipments often excludes the variable time required for customs inspections at the destination country. When combined with the unpredictable nature of volcanic flight disruptions, the logistical timeline becomes a dynamic variable rather than a fixed guarantee.

Pos Indonesia Sesuaikan Rute Pengiriman Dampak Abu Vulkanik

Fact-Based Analysis of Logistical Implications

The current situation highlights the fragility of modern just-in-time supply chains. For a postal service that handles millions of packages, the loss of air transport capacity is not just a scheduling issue; it is a capacity management challenge. A standard Boeing or Airbus cargo hold can carry significant tonnage. Shifting that volume to ground transport is rarely a one-to-one transition, as road and rail networks have their own capacity limits and longer transit times.

Furthermore, the economic impact of these disruptions extends to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Pos Indonesia has recently pivoted to strengthen its retail business services specifically to support UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) in Indonesia. For these businesses, which rely on consistent shipping to maintain their customer base, even a 48-hour delay caused by a volcanic eruption can have tangible financial repercussions. The proactive stance of Pos Indonesia in providing regular, transparent updates is therefore not just an administrative requirement, but a vital service to maintain market confidence.

Historical Precedents and Crisis Management

To understand the scale of the current threat, one must look at the historical data of volcanic events in Indonesia. The country is home to over 120 active volcanoes. The 2014 Kelud eruption was a watershed moment for Indonesian logistics, teaching major carriers how to pivot from air to multi-modal transport effectively. During that period, the shift to train and bus freight allowed for a "graceful degradation" of service rather than a total collapse.

In the modern context, the digital infrastructure currently in place at PosIND allows for much faster decision-making. By leveraging real-time data from meteorology agencies and airport authorities, the management team can preemptively move cargo to alternative hubs before an airport is officially closed, thereby minimizing the duration of delays.

Guidance for Customers and Stakeholders

Pos Indonesia has issued clear guidance for its customer base. Clients are urged to:

  1. Utilize Digital Tracking: Customers should monitor the status of their packages via the official PosIND website and mobile application. These platforms are updated in real-time as transit statuses change.
  2. Account for Extended Transit: Customers should factor in potential delays when planning time-sensitive shipments.
  3. Verify Documentation: For international shipments, ensuring that all information in the Customs Declaration System is accurate and complete is crucial to prevent further delays at the customs stage, which could compound any existing volcanic-related transit delays.

The company maintains that it is in constant communication with the Ministry of Transportation and the relevant aviation authorities. Any further operational adjustments—whether they involve the suspension of specific services, the activation of alternative transit routes, or the implementation of emergency capacity-sharing agreements with other logistics partners—will be announced through official channels.

Conclusion

As Indonesia navigates the current period of increased volcanic activity, the role of national infrastructure providers like Pos Indonesia becomes critical. The company’s ability to blend advanced robotic automation with traditional crisis management strategies provides a template for national logistics resilience. While the volcanic threat remains an external variable beyond the control of any single organization, the focus on transparency, technological monitoring, and flexible, multi-modal transport routing serves as the primary defense against systemic supply chain failure.

For now, the situation remains fluid. The safety of personnel remains the absolute priority, followed by the security of the mail and parcels entrusted to the national service. As the situation evolves, stakeholders can expect ongoing updates, with the company’s digital portals serving as the primary source of truth for the status of the national logistics network. The resilience of this network will be tested in the coming weeks, but based on the organizational framework currently in place, the path forward appears focused on maintaining service continuity through strategic, data-driven adaptation.

Mendorong Industri Memanfaatkan AI dan Drone untuk Hadapi Era Baru Pelaporan Keberlanjutan

by Raul Delapena Setiawan
written by Raul Delapena Setiawan

The global corporate landscape is undergoing a profound paradigm shift where environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and robust governance are no longer peripheral concerns, but rather the fundamental pillars of long-term economic viability. In a decisive move to address these evolving demands, President University of Indonesia, the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) from Australia, and industrial township developer Jababeka have formally united to spearhead a transformative initiative. This collaborative venture is designed to empower the industrial sector by modernizing sustainability management and reporting practices through the cutting-edge implementation of advanced technologies, specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI) and unmanned aerial vehicles, commonly known as drones.

This ambitious cross-border partnership has received significant financial backing from the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Securing an Indonesia-Australia collaborative cooperation grant valued at approximately AUD 42,000, the initiative bridges the academic rigor of higher education institutions with the pragmatic needs of the industrial sector. By leveraging this grant, the consortium aims to deploy technologically driven solutions that foster measurable and accountable environmental management across industrial clusters, starting primarily within the vast manufacturing and business ecosystems developed by Jababeka.

Running intensively from July through September 2026, the collaborative program serves as a melting pot for academia, technological innovators, and industrial leaders. Its primary objective is to redefine how corporations conceptualize sustainability. Historically, many businesses have viewed sustainability merely as a mechanism for mitigation—a way to minimize the negative environmental footprints generated by their operational processes. However, this joint initiative champions a more sophisticated, two-way perspective on corporate-environmental dynamics. Enterprises must now comprehensively understand how broader environmental shifts, ecological degradation, and localized climate conditions actively impact their own supply chains, worker health and safety, operational continuity, regulatory compliance, corporate reputation, and overall business survival.

The Imperative for Verifiable and Transparent Environmental Data

The timing of this collaborative effort is closely aligned with sweeping regulatory reforms taking place within the Indonesian financial and corporate sectors. As regulatory bodies tighten oversight and global markets demand greater transparency, the need for empirical, highly accurate, and easily verifiable environmental data has never been more critical. To address this urgent requirement, President University hosted a comprehensive workshop tailored for industrial practitioners on September 3, 2026. The educational event focused heavily on recent developments in sustainability reporting frameworks and the practical integration of digital tools to streamline environmental monitoring and compliance.

A central theme of the workshop was the deep dive into PSPK 1 and PSPK 2, which represent Indonesia’s domestic sustainability reporting standards that formally adopt the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S1 and S2 guidelines. These international standards demand unprecedented levels of disclosure regarding general requirements for sustainability-related financial disclosures and climate-related disclosures. The ability of manufacturing firms, logistics providers, and corporate tenants within industrial estates to produce precise, quantified environmental data is no longer just an administrative preference. With the mandatory enforcement of these sustainability-based accounting standards slated to take effect in 2027, companies failing to adapt risk facing severe regulatory penalties, restricted access to capital, and diminished market competitiveness.

Academic Insights and Economic Implications

The integration of advanced technologies like AI and drones directly addresses the data-gathering bottleneck that many industrial firms face when attempting to comply with rigorous reporting frameworks. Drones equipped with multispectral sensors and high-resolution imaging can autonomously monitor vast industrial zones, assessing air quality, wastewater discharge, thermal emissions, and land-use changes with pinpoint accuracy and minimal human error. Meanwhile, Artificial Intelligence algorithms process these massive influxes of real-time environmental data, generating predictive analytics that help facility managers preemptively identify ecological risks, optimize resource consumption, and automate compliance reporting metrics.

Weighing in on the long-term economic advantages of these technological integrations, Prof. Syed Shams from the University of Southern Queensland underscored the direct correlation between rigorous environmental transparency and corporate financial health. During the collaborative sessions, Prof. Shams emphasized that robust transparency is a powerful catalyst for enterprise value creation rather than a mere compliance burden.

"Previous empirical research consistently demonstrates that credible environmental and sustainability disclosure is directly associated with higher overall firm valuation, significantly lower costs of capital, and stronger expectations of future operational performance," Prof. Shams explained. He noted that investors, financial institutions, and global supply chain partners increasingly favor corporations that can transparently verify their sustainability metrics using hard data rather than generalized qualitative claims. By incorporating AI and drone technology into their daily operations, industrial firms can provide the cryptographic and empirical proof demanded by modern stakeholders, thereby securing a distinct competitive advantage in both domestic and international markets.

Chronology of the Indonesia-Australia Collaboration

The genesis of this impactful trilateral partnership traces back to extensive academic and diplomatic dialogues aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between Indonesia and Australia in the realms of education, sustainable development, and economic resilience.

  • Early 2025: Initial exploratory talks take place between faculty members at President University and researchers at the University of Southern Queensland regarding the mutual challenges faced by emerging economies in meeting international climate targets and adopting stringent reporting standards.
  • Late 2025: The consortium identifies PT Jababeka Tbk, a pioneer in industrial estate development in Indonesia, as an ideal strategic partner to serve as a living laboratory. Jababeka’s extensive industrial township in Cikarang provides a controlled yet expansive environment to pilot technological monitoring tools.
  • Early 2026: The formal proposal is submitted to the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) under the Indonesia-Australia collaborative grant scheme, highlighting the potential for technology transfer, capacity building, and sustainable industrial transition.
  • Mid-2026 (July): The grant of approximately AUD 42,000 is officially awarded, marking the official kickoff of the collaborative program. Preparations begin for joint research initiatives, curriculum enhancements, and practitioner-focused training modules.
  • September 3, 2026: President University hosts the landmark industry workshop focusing on PSPK 1, PSPK 2, and the practical application of AI and drones for corporate sustainability accounting.
  • September through December 2026: Implementation of pilot projects utilizing drone surveillance and AI-driven data analytics across select manufacturing facilities within the Jababeka industrial ecosystem, culminating in a comprehensive policy brief and technological adoption framework for Indonesian industries.

Broader Industry Impact and Future Outlook

The implications of the President University, UniSQ, and Jababeka partnership extend far beyond the immediate academic and corporate participants. As Indonesia accelerates its transition toward a low-carbon economy and works to meet its nationally determined contributions under global climate accords, the manufacturing and industrial sectors remain under intense scrutiny. Industrial estates are historically resource-intensive, consuming substantial quantities of energy and water while generating significant emissions and waste.

By introducing AI and drone technology as standard operational tools for environmental management, this initiative offers a scalable blueprint that can be replicated across other industrial hubs throughout the archipelago. Traditional methods of environmental auditing—often reliant on periodic manual sampling, delayed laboratory testing, and subjective record-keeping—are rapidly becoming obsolete in the face of fast-paced regulatory reforms and sophisticated international trade barriers, such as the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).

Furthermore, the collaboration addresses a critical skills gap in the Indonesian labor market. By embedding these advanced technological paradigms into higher education curricula and executive training programs, President University and its partners are actively preparing the next generation of engineers, data scientists, accountants, and corporate executives to navigate the complexities of green economics. Students and professionals alike are being trained not only to understand regulatory compliance frameworks like IFRS S1 and S2, but also to harness the computational and aerial tools required to collect, analyze, and report the underlying data seamlessly.

As the program progresses toward its conclusion in late 2026, the consortium plans to publish a series of white papers and practical guidelines detailing the best practices for integrating AI and drones into industrial sustainability management. These resources are expected to serve as invaluable reference materials for policymakers, industry associations, and corporate leaders striving to align commercial profitability with ecological preservation.

Ultimately, the partnership between President University, the University of Southern Queensland, and Jababeka demonstrates the profound efficacy of cross-sectoral and international cooperation. By uniting academic excellence, government backing, visionary industrial management, and state-of-the-art technology, the initiative establishes a new benchmark for corporate accountability. It proves that sustainable industrialization is not an unattainable ideal, but a pragmatic, technologically achievable reality that safeguards both business continuity and the global environment for decades to come.

Muhammadiyah Pushes for Digital Financial Literacy and Transparent Governance in Mosques Nationwide

by Evan Lee Salim
written by Evan Lee Salim

The At-Tanwir Mosque, operating under the auspices of the Central Leadership (Pimpinan Pusat or PP) of Muhammadiyah, has launched a strategic initiative to revolutionize mosque financial administration through modern digital recording systems. Aimed at instilling rigorous accountability, orderly bookkeeping, and long-term financial sustainability, the initiative centers on a comprehensive training program designed to equip mosque administrators with cutting-edge accounting tools. This development reflects a growing nationwide movement within Indonesia’s Islamic organizations to modernize institutional governance, transitioning away from traditional, manual record-keeping methods toward transparent, technology-driven frameworks.

The Catalyst for Change: Literacy and Modernization in Jakarta

On Monday, September 15, the Aula on the sixth floor of the At-Tanwir Mosque in Central Jakarta hosted a landmark event titled the Financial Report and Mosque Accounting Literacy Program. The gathering brought together 40 designated representatives from various mosques operating within the Muhammadiyah network. These administrators were invited to participate in intensive workshops designed to address systemic vulnerabilities in traditional mosque bookkeeping, such as undocumented transactions, delayed reporting to congregations, and the inherent risks of human error in manual ledgers.

The hosting of this event was spearheaded by KH Nur Ahmad, a prominent representative of the At-Tanwir Mosque’s Prosperity Council (Dewan Kemakmuran Masjid or DKM). According to Nur Ahmad, the program represents a crucial, proactive intervention to elevate the administrative standards of Muhammadiyah-affiliated houses of worship. He emphasized that as mosques expand their social, educational, and community welfare programs, the volume of financial inflows and outflows increases correspondingly, necessitating a parallel upgrade in managerial sophistication.

"This activity is designed to assist mosques in achieving financial management that is structured, orderly, sustainable, easily monitored, easily reported, and efficiently managed," Nur Ahmad stated during his opening address to the attendees. His remarks underscored the practical difficulties many local mosque committees face when attempting to balance traditional community service models with contemporary administrative demands.

The Ethical Foundation of Financial Management: Trust and Accountability

At the core of the PP Muhammadiyah initiative is the deeply rooted religious and ethical principle of amanah (trustworthiness). Nur Ahmad articulated that managing a mosque’s finances is fundamentally distinct from corporate financial management; it involves safeguarding funds entrusted by the broader Muslim community (umat). Consequently, every rupiah collected through Friday collections, endowments (wakaf), alms (zakat), and voluntary donations (infaq and shadaqah) carries a profound moral obligation of stewardship.

"Because we are managing funds belonging to the community, the foundational principle that must never be abandoned is amanah. To safeguard that trust, orderly bookkeeping, proper data management, and, whenever possible, the use of dedicated applications are absolutely necessary," Nur Ahmad explained.

This perspective resonates with broader discussions within contemporary Islamic philanthropy regarding governance standards. As congregations become increasingly sophisticated and discerning, donors expect a high degree of transparency. The modern congregant no longer relies solely on verbal assurances of financial health; they demand verifiable, data-backed reports that clearly demonstrate how contributions are allocated toward operational costs, maintenance, social outreach, and educational programs. By embracing digital recording tools, mosque administrators can bridge the gap between traditional ethical obligations and modern administrative expectations.

Introduction to SIROQIB: Bridging Technology and Administration

A central component of the day-long literacy program was the introduction and technical demonstration of SIROQIB, a specialized digital platform engineered to streamline financial record-keeping for religious institutions. The software is designed to guide mosque treasurers through the systematic entry of daily transactions, categorize diverse revenue and expenditure streams, and automatically generate standardized financial statements.

During the technical sessions, participants were walked through the software’s interface, learning how SIROQIB mitigates common accounting pitfalls. Traditional ledger systems often suffer from illegible handwriting, misplaced receipts, and discrepancies between physical cash counts and recorded balances. By transitioning these processes to a digital environment, the platform ensures that every financial entry is timestamped, categorized, and securely archived.

Mosque financial administration typically revolves around three critical pillars: accurate transaction recording, rigorous internal control, and transparent public reporting. The training sessions emphasized that SIROQIB is tailored to support all three dimensions. By standardizing the input process, the software assists treasurers in maintaining strict control over cash flows. Furthermore, the system’s reporting modules enable administrators to produce comprehensive financial summaries with minimal delay, making it significantly easier to present periodic updates to mosque congregants and supervisory boards.

Background Context: The Evolution of Mosque Governance in Indonesia

The initiative undertaken by the At-Tanwir Mosque does not occur in a vacuum. Over the past decade, Indonesian Islamic organizations, led by major entities like Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama, have increasingly recognized that the traditional role of the mosque has expanded far beyond daily congregational prayers. Modern mosques frequently function as community hubs, managing substantial economic resources that include educational institutions, healthcare clinics, disaster relief funds, and micro-enterprise development programs.

Historically, mosque treasuries were managed by volunteer committees using rudimentary cash books. While this system relied heavily on personal integrity and social trust, it frequently lacked institutional resilience. When committee members rotated, institutional knowledge regarding past financial commitments or ongoing projects was often lost, occasionally leading to administrative friction or diminished public confidence.

Recognizing these vulnerabilities, national leadership bodies have initiated systematic campaigns to professionalize mosque administration. These efforts align with the broader national push toward digital transformation in public and religious sectors. By integrating digital accounting tools, religious institutions not only protect themselves against financial mismanagement and potential fraud but also enhance their capacity to attract larger philanthropic investments from institutional donors and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

Timeline of the Digital Literacy Campaign

The rollout of the Financial Report and Mosque Accounting Literacy Program on September 15 represents the culmination of months of logistical planning by the At-Tanwir Mosque management team in coordination with PP Muhammadiyah’s administrative directorates.

  • Phase One (Early 2024): Preliminary assessments conducted by Muhammadiyah’s religious and social welfare councils identified widespread administrative inconsistencies among smaller and mid-sized community mosques, highlighting an urgent need for standardized accounting frameworks.
  • Phase Two (Mid 2024): Development and adaptation of specialized digital tools, culminating in the optimization of platforms such as SIROQIB for religious institutional use.
  • Phase Three (September 15, 2024): Official launch of the literacy program at the At-Tanwir Mosque in Central Jakarta, featuring practical training workshops for 40 initial mosque administrators.
  • Phase Four (Projected Late 2024 and Beyond): Expansion of the training modules to regional branches, with the long-term objective of scaling digital financial literacy across thousands of Muhammadiyah-affiliated mosques throughout the archipelago.

Broader Implications and Strategic Impact

The implications of the At-Tanwir Mosque’s initiative extend well beyond the immediate boundaries of the 40 participating organizations. By establishing a replicable model for digital financial governance, PP Muhammadiyah is setting a benchmark for religious administration nationwide.

First, the transition to digital accounting systems drastically reduces the administrative burden on volunteer treasurers. Many mosque administrators serve out of civic and religious dedication while maintaining full-time careers in other sectors. Complex, manual accounting procedures often consume excessive time and can lead to burnout or inaccuracies. Automated systems like SIROQIB simplify data entry, thereby freeing up valuable time for administrators to focus on community-building and pastoral care.

Second, enhanced transparency directly correlates with increased congregational engagement and financial generosity. Behavioral studies in philanthropic giving consistently demonstrate that donors are more inclined to contribute—and to give larger amounts—when they receive clear, timely, and verifiable reports on how their funds are utilized. By utilizing standardized digital reports, Muhammadiyah mosques can build a stronger foundation of public trust, which in turn can stimulate higher levels of community support for local social and religious initiatives.

Finally, the institutionalization of rigorous financial controls ensures long-term sustainability. Mosques that maintain orderly, audited digital records are better positioned to weather economic uncertainties, plan multi-year capital projects, and comply with emerging regulatory standards regarding non-profit and religious fund management in Indonesia.

Conclusion and Future Outlook

As the pilot program concluded on Monday afternoon, organizers expressed optimism that the participating administrators would serve as change agents within their respective local communities. The integration of platforms like SIROQIB into daily mosque operations marks a decisive step toward modernizing Islamic philanthropy in Indonesia.

Through the combined efforts of the At-Tanwir Mosque, PP Muhammadiyah, and dedicated local administrators, the initiative demonstrates that adherence to traditional ethical mandates such as amanah is enhanced, rather than diminished, by the adoption of modern technological tools. As this digital literacy campaign expands in the coming months, it holds the potential to redefine the operational standards of houses of worship across the nation, ensuring that community funds are managed with the highest levels of precision, integrity, and transparency. Maksud Hadis Mimpi Bertemu Nabi Muhammad SAW dan Penjelasannya

by Nana Muazin
written by Nana Muazin

The experience of dreaming about the Prophet Muhammad is regarded by many Muslims as a profound spiritual encounter. Throughout Islamic history, reports of individuals claiming to have seen the Prophet in their sleep have been met with a mixture of reverence, skepticism, and theological scrutiny. While the phenomenon is deeply personal, it raises complex questions regarding the interpretation of sacred texts and the nature of spiritual perception. To understand the weight of these experiences, it is necessary to examine the foundational hadith, the discourse among classical Islamic scholars, and the practical implications for contemporary believers.

Foundational Hadith and Canonical Context

The primary textual evidence regarding this phenomenon is found in the canonical collections of Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. The most cited narration, transmitted by Abu Hurairah, quotes the Prophet Muhammad as stating: "Whoever sees me in a dream, he has truly seen me, for Satan cannot take my form." A similar narration, attributed to Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, reinforces this by stating, "Whoever sees me, then he has indeed seen the truth, for Satan cannot impersonate me."

These narrations establish a unique theological status for the Prophet in the realm of dreams. Unlike other figures, the Prophet’s identity is considered immune to satanic deception. However, this has led to centuries of scholarly debate: Does "seeing the Prophet" imply a literal, objective vision of the Prophet’s physical body, or is it a symbolic representation that conveys a specific truth? The ambiguity of these narrations has necessitated rigorous intellectual inquiry by jurists and theologians to prevent misinterpretation and religious fallacy.

Scholarly Perspectives on the Nature of the Vision

The discourse among Islamic scholars, particularly those specializing in Hadith studies (Muhaddithin), has been diverse. The renowned scholar Imam an-Nawawi, in his commentary on Sahih Muslim, highlights several distinct interpretations that have evolved over the centuries.

  1. The Argument for Truthful Vision (Ibn al-Baqillani):
Ibn al-Baqillani proposed that the statement "he has truly seen me" signifies that the dream is an authentic, truthful vision. In this view, the experience is protected from being a mere jumble of daily thoughts (adhghats ahlam) or a manipulation by the devil. The emphasis here is on the integrity of the dream itself rather than the physical presence of the Prophet’s body in the dreamer’s consciousness.

  2. The Literal Interpretation:
A faction of scholars, as noted by the jurist al-Mazari, argued for a literal understanding. They posited that the individual who sees the Prophet has indeed seen him in the absolute sense. They maintained that there is no logical impossibility in the Prophet manifesting in a dream, and thus, the narration should be taken at its word without metaphorical gymnastics.

Maksud Hadis Mimpi Bertemu Nabi Muhammad dan Penjelasannya

  3. The Requirement of Physical Accuracy (Al-Qadhi):
Al-Qadhi proposed a conditional framework, suggesting that a "true" vision of the Prophet is only valid if the figure seen matches the physical descriptions recorded in the historical corpus of the Prophet’s life (the Shamail). If the figure differs significantly from these descriptions, al-Qadhi argued that the dream is symbolic and requires interpretation rather than being considered a literal meeting.

  4. The Comprehensive Vision (Al-Mazari’s Rebuttal):
Al-Mazari disagreed with the conditional approach. He argued that a believer could indeed see the Prophet even if the physical image in the dream does not align perfectly with historical descriptions. He suggested that the dream-state operates under different parameters than physical reality. In this view, the essence of the Prophet is perceived, while the specific attributes—such as clothing, age, or stature—might be colored by the dreamer’s own cognitive framework. Imam an-Nawawi ultimately favored this perspective, labeling the conditional view as "weak."

The Challenge of Modern Identification

The theological complexity deepens when considering that contemporary Muslims have not lived alongside the Prophet. Unlike the Sahaba (Companions), who knew the Prophet’s physical features intimately, modern believers rely on textual descriptions. The late scholar KH Ali Mustafa Yaqub, in his work at-Thuruq as-Sahihah fi Fahm as-Sunnah an-Nabawiyah, provided a critical perspective on this. He argued that these hadiths must be interpreted in conjunction with others that mention being seen "in a state of wakefulness" or "as if one has seen me in a state of wakefulness."

The core concern raised by such scholars is the human tendency to mistake internal imagination for divine revelation. If a dreamer has never seen the Prophet, how can they authenticate the identity of the person in the dream? If a figure appears and claims to be the Prophet, does that claim alone suffice? The consensus among cautious scholars is that while the promise of the hadith holds true, the individual’s subjective experience remains fallible. The lack of prior physical familiarity makes the "authentication" of the vision a matter of profound uncertainty.

Broader Impact and Ethical Implications

The implications of these debates are significant for the broader Muslim community. In an era where claims of spiritual visions are sometimes used to justify new practices or religious authority, the distinction between a personal spiritual experience and a source of legal (Sharia) authority is vital.

From a sociological perspective, the desire to dream of the Prophet reflects a deep-seated spiritual longing for connection with the foundational figure of the faith. However, experts in Islamic law warn against using such dreams as a basis for religious innovation (bid’ah) or to overturn established legal rulings. The danger lies in the potential for "visionary authority," where individuals claim mandates from the Prophet to alter religious practice, which can lead to social and theological fragmentation.

Institutional and Scholarly Consensus

Official responses from Islamic institutions generally maintain a balanced approach. They categorize dreams of the Prophet as a source of individual comfort and spiritual encouragement—a "glad tiding"—rather than a source of binding law. The consensus is that the validity of one’s faith and the measure of one’s love for the Prophet should not be predicated on whether or not they have experienced such a dream.

Maksud Hadis Mimpi Bertemu Nabi Muhammad dan Penjelasannya

Instead, the scholarly tradition emphasizes that the true "vision" of the Prophet is found through the study of his Sunnah (teachings and lifestyle) and the application of his character in daily life. By prioritizing the emulation of his ethics, service to humanity, and adherence to the core tenets of the faith, believers are considered to be "seeing" the Prophet in the most meaningful, objective sense.

Analysis: Bridging Spirituality and Reality

The enduring nature of this topic suggests that for the average believer, the dream is less of a theological puzzle and more of an emotional anchor. The debate serves as a necessary guardrail: it acknowledges the beauty and validity of spiritual experiences while preventing them from being weaponized or misunderstood.

The primary takeaway from the classical scholarly discourse is one of humility. Whether the vision is literal or symbolic, the dream should inspire the individual toward greater piety, charity, and consistency in their religious practice. If a dream of the Prophet leads to the abandonment of religious obligations or the justification of unethical behavior, it is viewed by scholars as a potential point of confusion or a psychological projection, rather than an authentic spiritual encounter.

Conclusion: A Measured Approach

In conclusion, the scholarly investigation into dreams of the Prophet Muhammad is not intended to diminish the spiritual experience of the individual. Rather, it serves to define the boundaries of such experiences within the broader framework of Islamic theology. While the hadiths confirm that Satan cannot assume the form of the Prophet, the interpretation of what constitutes that "form" and the ability of the human mind to perceive it remains a subject of nuanced academic debate.

For the modern believer, the safest path is to embrace these experiences as a personal, spiritual blessing that encourages a better adherence to the Prophetic character. At the same time, it is essential to recognize that the standard of truth in Islam remains anchored in the Quran and the established Sunnah—the verifiable, public, and timeless teachings of the Prophet—rather than the fleeting, private images of the dream world. By centering the relationship with the Prophet on his lived teachings, Muslims can find a secure and authentic connection that transcends the subjective nature of nocturnal visions.

PPA FEB UI Formulates Seven Reform Recommendations to Resolve Tax Restitution Deadlocks and Protect Business Liquidity

by Asro
written by Asro

The Indonesian government is facing an increasingly complex fiscal dilemma as it attempts to balance the imperatives of national revenue targets with the urgent need to maintain the liquidity and operational continuity of the domestic business sector. Recent data indicates a significant surge in applications for tax overpayment refunds, or tax restitution, which has strained the administrative capacity of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) and created a bottleneck that threatens the working capital of companies across various sectors. In response to this mounting pressure, the Public Policy Analysis (PPA) unit at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI), has formulated seven strategic policy recommendations aimed at overhauling the tax restitution management system.

The tension between fiscal space and corporate liquidity has reached a critical juncture. As the state seeks to secure every rupiah of projected tax revenue to fund development projects and social programs, businesses—particularly exporters and capital-intensive industries—find their cash flows tethered to pending refund requests. This conflict has prompted calls for a comprehensive structural reform that shifts from a rigid, manual-heavy oversight model to a sophisticated, risk-based administrative framework.

The Anatomy of the Restitution Crisis

The current backlog in tax restitution is not merely a bureaucratic inefficiency; it is a symptom of a multifaceted economic environment. Economists note that fluctuations in restitution applications are driven by a complex interplay of variables, including macroeconomic shifts, the pace of foreign and domestic investment, export performance, and the inherent design of the Value Added Tax (VAT) system.

Under the current VAT regime, businesses often pay more in input taxes than they collect in output taxes, especially during periods of high investment or export growth. While the law mandates the return of these excess payments, the administration of these refunds has historically been marked by lengthy audit processes. These audits are designed to prevent tax fraud, yet they frequently ensnare compliant businesses in a web of uncertainty. When the state treasury experiences fiscal tightness, the duration of these audits tends to extend, effectively turning the government into an unintended borrower of corporate capital.

Seven Pillars of Reform

During a public discussion held at the UI Salemba campus on September 16, 2026, Prof. Telisa Aulia Falianty, a prominent economist and Professor at FEB UI, outlined the seven-point framework designed to harmonize tax enforcement with economic vitality. The core of this proposal lies in a tiered, risk-based management system.

  1. Risk-Based Categorization: The government must move away from a "one-size-fits-all" audit approach. By categorizing taxpayers based on historical compliance, the DJP can expedite refunds for low-risk, highly compliant entities while focusing intensive audits on high-risk profiles.
  2. Standardized Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Each risk category must be assigned a clear, legally binding timeline for the completion of the refund process. For low-risk taxpayers, this could mean an automated, near-instantaneous refund, while for high-risk cases, the period should be capped at a reasonable timeframe—such as six months to one year—to ensure business certainty.
  3. Transparent Digital Tracking: Implementing a user-friendly, real-time dashboard for taxpayers to track the status of their restitution applications. This transparency would reduce the information asymmetry that currently plagues the relationship between the tax authority and the private sector.
  4. Expansion of Audit Capacity: To handle the increasing volume of requests, the DJP is urged to bolster its workforce of tax examiners. Human resource expansion must be paired with continuous professional training to ensure that examiners are equipped to handle complex international transactions.
  5. Full Integration of the Coretax System: The ongoing implementation of the Coretax administration system must be fast-tracked. Digital integration allows for the cross-referencing of invoices and transaction data, reducing the reliance on manual paper-based audits which are prone to delays and errors.
  6. Public Accountability of Backlogs: The government should periodically publish data regarding the total volume and age of pending restitution claims. This data-driven approach fosters public accountability and allows policymakers to identify specific sectors where liquidity crunches are most acute.
  7. Enhanced Fraud Mitigation Protocols: By utilizing advanced data analytics, the tax authority can proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with "ghost" tax invoices, under-invoicing, and transactions not based on actual facts (TBTS), thereby protecting state revenue without punishing legitimate businesses.

The Economic Ripple Effect

The implications of delayed tax restitution extend far beyond the balance sheets of individual companies. When companies face liquidity constraints, they are forced to delay capital expenditures, postpone hiring, or resort to expensive commercial financing to maintain day-to-day operations. In the broader context of the Indonesian economy, this creates a drag on growth.

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) has consistently highlighted that the uncertainty surrounding tax refunds acts as a "hidden tax" on productivity. For many SMEs and export-oriented firms, a significant portion of their operational budget is essentially held hostage by the state. If the average time to process a refund is extended from three months to twelve, a firm’s cash conversion cycle is severely disrupted, potentially leading to insolvency in high-volume, low-margin sectors.

Technological Shifts: The Coretax Horizon

The proposed reforms coincide with the government’s transition toward the Coretax system, a modernization project aimed at digitalizing the entire taxation chain. Experts argue that technology is the only viable path to closing the gap between stringent oversight and efficient service.

Under the current manual or semi-automated systems, the DJP is often forced to perform extensive manual verification to prevent the systemic abuse of VAT refunds—a common target for organized tax fraud. However, with the integration of real-time e-invoicing and machine learning algorithms, the system can flag suspicious patterns instantaneously. This shift would allow the tax office to focus its human capital on investigating genuine cases of fraud, rather than performing repetitive administrative checks on honest taxpayers.

Institutional Responses and Future Outlook

While the government has acknowledged the need for reform, the transition is fraught with challenges. The Ministry of Finance faces the constant pressure of meeting the annual APBN (State Budget) targets. When the budget is under strain, there is an institutional tendency to delay disbursements, including tax refunds, to keep the fiscal deficit within the statutory limits.

However, the FEB UI study argues that this is a short-term gain that leads to long-term pain. By stifling business liquidity, the government inadvertently slows down the economic activity that generates future tax revenue. A healthier approach, the study suggests, is to view tax restitution not as an expense, but as a critical component of the national business infrastructure.

The discourse surrounding these seven recommendations is expected to continue as the government prepares for the next fiscal cycle. Policymakers are under mounting pressure from business associations to provide a concrete timeline for the implementation of these reforms. As Indonesia aims to maintain its position as a competitive investment destination in Southeast Asia, the efficiency of its tax administration will remain a primary metric for investors.

Ultimately, the goal of the PPA FEB UI recommendations is to transform the tax authority from an adversarial entity into a partner in national economic development. By balancing the "fiscal space" with "business liquidity," the government can ensure that its revenue collection efforts do not come at the cost of the very engine that powers the nation’s growth. Whether the government will fully adopt this risk-based, transparent framework remains a focal point for economic observers in the coming months. The successful integration of these reforms could serve as a model for emerging economies globally, demonstrating that rigorous tax compliance and a healthy business climate are not mutually exclusive, but rather complementary pillars of a sustainable national economy.

Persib Bandung Secures Historic 1-0 Victory Over FC Seoul in AFC Champions League Two Opener

by Lina Hope
written by Lina Hope

Persib Bandung achieved a monumental milestone on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, by securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory against South Korean powerhouse FC Seoul at the iconic Seoul World Cup Stadium. The match served as the opening fixture of Group E in the 2026/2027 edition of the AFC Champions League Two (ACL 2). Coming away from East Asia with all three points is a rare feat for Indonesian clubs, underlining the growing competitiveness of Liga 1 representatives on the continental stage.

The solitary goal of the match, scored early in the first half by Brazilian center-back Julio Cesar, proved to be the decisive factor. Despite facing relentless pressure from the K League 1 side throughout the ninety minutes, Maung Bandung demonstrated extraordinary tactical discipline, defensive resilience, and mental fortitude to preserve their clean sheet and claim a historic away win.

Main Facts of the Encounter

The Group E opening match witnessed a classic clash of styles: a technically proficient, high-pressing home team against a well-organized, resolute visiting side specializing in disciplined low-block defending and swift counter-attacks. FC Seoul dominated possession and created numerous scoring opportunities, particularly in the second half, but failed to find a way past Persib’s impenetrable defensive wall and goalkeeper Teja Paku Alam.

Julio Cesar’s fifth-minute header stunned the home crowd, setting the tone for a tense evening. Marc Klok provided the precise delivery from a corner kick, allowing Cesar to outjump his marker and guide the ball past FC Seoul goalkeeper Kang Hyeon-mu. From that moment onward, Persib shifted into a compact defensive shape, absorbing wave after wave of attacks while occasionally threatening on the break.

The victory gives Persib an early advantage in Group E, positioning them favorably as the tournament progresses. For FC Seoul, the defeat serves as a harsh reminder of the unpredictability of continental football, where dominance in possession does not always translate to goals.

Chronology of the Match

The evening in Seoul began with high intensity as both sides looked to establish early control. FC Seoul attempted to impose their rhythm through quick ball movement and flank attacks, backed by their vocal home supporters. However, it was the Indonesian visitors who struck first.

In the fifth minute, Persib earned a corner kick on the right flank. Midfielder and team captain Marc Klok stepped up to take the set-piece, curling an inviting, pin-point cross into the heart of the penalty area. Julio Cesar rose above the FC Seoul defense and directed a powerful header into the back of the net, silencing the Seoul World Cup Stadium and shocking the hosts.

Stunned by the early setback, FC Seoul immediately surged forward, increasing their tempo and pinning Persib deep into their own half. The K League 1 side utilized intricate passing combinations around the box, attempting to unlock the Indonesian side’s defensive block. Despite the mounting pressure, Persib’s backline maintained its structural integrity, clearing crosses and blocking shots with remarkable composure.

As the match progressed into the second half, the home side’s intensity reached a fever pitch. In the 62nd minute, FC Seoul crafted their most dangerous opportunity of the game when forward Moon Seon-min connected with a cross and directed a powerful header toward goal. However, Teja Paku Alam demonstrated cat-like reflexes, diving to his left to parry the ball away and preserve Persib’s precious lead.

Just two minutes later, Persib had a golden opportunity to double their advantage and put the game to bed. A miscommunication and subsequent handling error by FC Seoul goalkeeper Kang Hyeon-mu left Marc Klok with an open sight of goal from distance. With the goalkeeper out of position, Klok attempted to curl the ball into the unguarded net, but his effort agonizingly drifted just wide of the target.

Knowing a single goal was a precarious margin, Persib doubled down on their defensive duties for the remainder of the contest. Head coach Bojan Hodak introduced fresh legs into the midfield and defense to counter the physical toll of the match. FC Seoul threw numbers forward in the closing stages, launching desperate long balls and crosses into the box, but the Persib defense stood tall until the final whistle blew, sealing a famous 1-0 victory.

Tactical Analysis and Defensive Discipline

Football observers and analysts quickly dissected how Persib managed to pull off the upset away from home. Prominent Indonesian football pundit Bung Ropan highlighted the tactical discipline and psychological strength displayed by the squad during his post-match review.

"The most important thing was not conceding," Bung Ropan noted in his digital broadcast analysis. "They did not lose focus at all. They were neat in defense, highly disciplined, and executed the game plan flawlessly."

Bung Ropan further emphasized that physical conditioning played a pivotal role in Persib’s success. Facing a physically demanding K League 1 opponent on their home turf requires elite stamina and tactical obedience.

"The players showed great physical conditioning and executed instructions to the letter. The mental resilience of the Persib squad was simply extraordinary," he added.

The defensive masterclass orchestrated by the coaching staff effectively neutralized FC Seoul’s primary attacking threats. By maintaining a compact two-line defensive block, Persib limited the spaces between their midfield and defense, forcing the hosts into taking low-percentage shots from distance or resorting to hopeful crosses that were comfortably dealt with by Julio Cesar, Nick Kuipers, and Teja Paku Alam.

Background and Context of AFC Champions League Two

The 2026/2027 season of the AFC Champions League Two represents the tier-two club competition of Asian football, organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). For Indonesian clubs, competing in continental tournaments offers a vital platform to showcase the rising standard of domestic football, gain international exposure, and measure their progress against top-tier regional competitors.

Persib earned their qualification for this prestigious tournament following their stellar domestic campaign in Liga 1. Competing in Group E places them against formidable opponents from across East and Southeast Asia, making every single match critical for progression to the knockout stages. Winning an away fixture against a South Korean side is statistically one of the hardest challenges in Asian club football, historically favoring the home teams due to climate, travel fatigue, and the high technical standards of the K League.

This victory not only adds three crucial points to Persib’s group stage tally but also serves as a massive confidence booster for Indonesian football as a whole. Historically, Southeast Asian clubs have often struggled when traveling to East Asia, making Persib’s clean-sheet victory a notable achievement that reverberates across the region.

Broader Implications and Future Outlook

The immediate implication of this match is that Persib Bandung sits in a commanding position within Group E. Securing an away win against the theoretical toughest opponent in the group removes a significant amount of pressure ahead of their upcoming fixtures.

However, the coaching staff and players are well aware that the group stage is a marathon, not a sprint. The physical toll of the trip to Seoul, combined with the demanding domestic Liga 1 schedule, will require careful squad rotation and player management in the coming weeks. Maintaining consistency will be the key challenge as Persib balances continental ambitions with domestic title aspirations.

For FC Seoul, the defeat forces them into an immediate recovery mode. As one of the traditional powerhouses of South Korean football, the club will be expected to bounce back in their subsequent fixtures, adding even more intrigue to the return leg against Persib in Bandung.

Ultimately, Persib’s triumph in Seoul transcends the simple addition of three points to a league table. It stands as a testament to strategic discipline, unwavering mental toughness, and the ever-improving quality of Indonesian football on the international stage. As the tournament unfolds, the victory over FC Seoul will undoubtedly be remembered as a defining moment in Persib Bandung’s 2026/2027 continental campaign.

Perkumpulan Pegolf Senior Indonesia (Perpesi) Reshapes Organizational Framework During Landmark Extraordinary National Congress in Batam

by Siti Muinah
written by Siti Muinah

The Perkumpulan Pegolf Senior Indonesia (Perpesi), the nation’s primary governing body for senior golfers, officially ratified a series of critical amendments to its Anggaran Dasar (AD), or Articles of Association, during an Extraordinary National Congress (Munaslub) held in Batam, Riau Islands, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. This legislative milestone serves as a definitive pivot point for the organization, which seeks to modernize its operational structure to better accommodate the rapid growth of the senior golfing community across the Indonesian archipelago.

A Quorum-Driven Mandate for Change

The convening of the Munaslub was marked by a high level of engagement from the organization’s grassroots components. According to official reports, the forum saw an attendance rate exceeding two-thirds of the total Perpesi chapters nationwide. This robust turnout not only satisfied the legal requirements for a quorum under the organization’s previous statutes but also underscored a collective urgency among senior golfers to adapt to the shifting landscape of sports administration in Indonesia.

The primary objective of the session was singular and focused: to dismantle outdated administrative bottlenecks and replace them with a contemporary framework capable of supporting the decentralized nature of the sport. As golf continues to gain popularity among older demographics as a means of promoting physical health, social integration, and professional networking, Perpesi leadership recognized that its existing governance model—largely designed for a smaller, more centralized entity—had become increasingly inadequate.

The New Structural Paradigm: From Local to Provincial

The most significant outcome of the deliberations in Batam is the formal restructuring of the organization’s hierarchy. Under the newly ratified Articles of Association, Perpesi will transition toward a tiered governance system. Previously, the organizational chart was largely horizontal, with local chapters reporting directly to the central body. The new structure introduces an intermediary level: the Pengurus Daerah (Regional Boards) at the provincial level.

This shift is intended to streamline communication and oversight. By empowering provincial-level boards, Perpesi aims to foster greater autonomy for local city and regency chapters while ensuring that national policies are implemented with greater efficiency. This "top-down, bottom-up" hybrid model is a common strategy in successful sports associations, designed to provide localized support, manage regional tournaments, and facilitate the recruitment of new members without overwhelming the central secretariat.

Leadership Perspective: The Vision of Masrizal A. Syarief

The President of Perpesi, Masrizal A. Syarief, addressed the assembly during the closing stages of the Munaslub, emphasizing that the amendments were not merely administrative housekeeping but a strategic necessity. "The modification of our Articles of Association is the foundational step required to provide the necessary support for the organic expansion of our organization," Syarief stated.

His vision, as articulated during the forum, is to transform Perpesi into a more agile organization capable of representing the interests of senior golfers in a national dialogue concerning sports tourism, public health policy, and facility infrastructure. By formalizing the provincial tier, the leadership hopes to create a more resilient network that can withstand regional economic fluctuations and better coordinate with local governments to secure access to municipal and private golf courses.

Contextualizing the Growth of Senior Golf in Indonesia

To understand the necessity of this Munaslub, one must look at the broader evolution of the golf industry in Indonesia. Over the past decade, the country has seen a marked increase in the number of golf facilities, driven by a burgeoning middle class and an aging population that views golf as a primary recreational and health-focused activity.

Data from the Indonesian Golf Association (PGI) and regional tourism boards suggests that "golf tourism" has become a significant economic contributor, particularly in regions like the Riau Islands, where Batam serves as a hub for both domestic and international players. The decision to host the Munaslub in Batam is symbolic of this trend, as the city has positioned itself as a premier destination for golf enthusiasts. By strengthening its organizational backbone, Perpesi is effectively positioning itself to partner more effectively with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to promote senior golf events that bring in significant revenue and tourism traffic.

Chronology of Administrative Evolution

The path to the 2026 Munaslub was not sudden. The internal momentum for these changes had been building for several years:

  • 2023: Initial discussions regarding the limitations of the current bylaws were raised during the National Annual Meeting, where members noted the difficulty of managing cross-province tournaments.
  • 2024: A task force was commissioned to review the operational challenges faced by provincial representatives, identifying the lack of provincial coordination as a major pain point.
  • Early 2025: Draft amendments were circulated among local chapters to gather feedback, ensuring that the final vote would be inclusive.
  • September 2026: The formal Munaslub was convened in Batam to finalize and ratify the proposed changes, marking the beginning of a new era for the organization.

Broader Implications and Future Outlook

The implications of these structural changes are expected to be far-reaching. By creating a formalized regional presence, Perpesi is better equipped to standardize the rules of competition, handicap systems, and ethical guidelines for senior golfers across different provinces. This standardization is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the sport and ensuring that regional championships can eventually feed into a more structured national ranking system.

Furthermore, the empowerment of provincial boards is expected to improve the organization’s ability to advocate for better golf course maintenance and public access. As local governments increasingly look toward sports to revitalize local economies, having a formal, tiered organization makes Perpesi a more credible partner for regional public-private partnerships.

However, the transition will not be without its challenges. The primary obstacle for the coming fiscal year will be the logistical task of appointing and training new provincial boards to ensure they are equipped to handle their expanded responsibilities. This will require significant investment in administrative infrastructure and leadership training, a challenge that the central leadership acknowledged during the forum.

Conclusion

As the Munaslub in Batam concludes, the atmosphere among the delegates reflects a cautious optimism. The formalization of the provincial structure provides a framework for growth, but the success of this initiative will ultimately depend on the commitment of the newly appointed regional leaders and the continued participation of the grassroots membership. By modernizing its foundational documents, Perpesi has secured the legal and administrative infrastructure necessary to evolve from a loose association of clubs into a sophisticated, nationwide organization capable of leading the future of senior golf in Indonesia. The events of September 16, 2026, will likely be viewed in hindsight as the day the organization successfully bridged the gap between its traditional roots and the requirements of the modern era.
