Minecraft Vanilla in 2026 Continues to Captivate Players From First Log to Ender Dragon Defeat

by Asro
written by Asro

Minecraft Vanilla remains one of the most engaging ways to experience the iconic sandbox title without the inclusion of third-party modifications, shaders, or custom texture packs. As the gaming landscape evolves in 2026, the pure, unadulterated baseline experience continues to offer a deeply rewarding journey. From the rudimentary act of punching the first tree on day one to the high-stakes confrontation with the Ender Dragon in the alien dimension of The End, the core gameplay loop retains its timeless appeal.

First released in its earliest developmental stages by Mojang Studios and designed by Markus "Notch" Persson before being acquired by Microsoft, Minecraft has cemented its status as the best-selling video game of all time. With lifetime sales surpassing hundreds of millions of copies across virtually every modern gaming platform, its enduring popularity is a testament to its open-ended design philosophy. As an open-world sandbox game, Minecraft grants players absolute freedom to build, explore, survive, and dictate their own objectives without being constrained by linear storytelling. According to official documentation from Mojang Studios, the game technically has no definitive ending; even after defeating the Ender Dragon—traditionally viewed as the ultimate boss—the world remains fully accessible, inviting players to continue building, terraforming, and exploring indefinitely.

The Genesis of Survival: The Importance of Wood

For millions of players engaging with the standard Survival mode, the journey invariably begins with a familiar routine: gathering wood. Stripping wooden logs directly from tree trunks using only player characters’ bare hands yields raw timber, which serves as the foundational currency of progress. This raw material is subsequently processed into wooden planks in the player’s crafting inventory.

This initial step unlocks the gateway to structural progression. According to Minecraft’s official guides, arranging four wooden planks creates a crafting table, a vital workstation that expands the crafting grid from a restrictive 2×2 layout to a robust 3×3 matrix. This workstation allows players to manufacture more complex tools, wooden pickaxes, swords, and crucial survival equipment.

While this introductory phase appears deceptively simple, it establishes the strategic depth that defines Minecraft Vanilla. Resource management becomes an immediate priority. Players must balance the acquisition of tools, the procurement of a sustainable food supply, and the hasty construction of a rudimentary shelter before the sun sets and the game’s nocturnal threats emerge. This delicate balancing act forms the psychological hook of the early game, turning what could be a mundane chore into a frantic race against time.

Surviving the Night and the Mechanics of Mining

Once basic wooden tools are secured, the gameplay loop broadens significantly. Players transition from gathering surface materials to quarrying stone, smelting iron ore, hunting wildlife for food, and managing health meters. Unlike Creative mode, where resources are infinite and players are invulnerable, Survival mode introduces systemic friction that demands tactical awareness and foresight.

Mojang Studios consistently advises newcomers to prioritize two critical elements during their first few daylight cycles: an established food reserve and a secure, well-lit shelter. As the in-game sun dips below the horizon, the ambient lighting drops, triggering the spawn mechanics for hostile mobs such as zombies, skeletons, creepers, and spiders. Constructing a defensible perimeter is not merely an aesthetic choice; it is a fundamental prerequisite for survival.

From this safe haven, the world of Minecraft expands exponentially. Armed with stone and iron pickaxes, players can delve deeper beneath the surface strata, embarking on subterranean mining operations. This phase introduces players to rare mineral deposits, complex cave systems, abandoned mineshafts, and subterranean ravines. Gathering rare materials like redstone, lapis lazuli, and diamonds transforms the player’s capabilities, enabling the creation of enchanted armor, complex redstone circuitry, and advanced weaponry. This upward spiral of preparation is vital for tackling the game’s late-game milestones.

The Evolution of the Sandbox Genre and Industry Impact

The enduring success of Minecraft Vanilla in 2026 highlights a broader paradigm shift in the video game industry. In an era dominated by hyper-realistic graphics, microtransactions, and live-service monetization models, Minecraft’s blocky, retro-inspired aesthetic and player-driven ethos offer a refreshing alternative. Industry analysts note that the game’s refusal to lock content behind paywalls or force seasonal progression models has preserved its multi-generational appeal. Parents who played the alpha and beta versions in the early 2010s now introduce the title to their children, creating a unique cross-generational cultural footprint.

Furthermore, the absence of mandatory mods ensures that the baseline game remains a stable, universally accessible educational and creative platform. Educational institutions worldwide utilize Minecraft: Education Edition—derived from the vanilla framework—to teach subjects ranging from coding and mathematics to history and architectural design. This versatility underscores the game’s transition from a simple indie novelty into a ubiquitous digital medium.

Looking Ahead: The Journey to The Nether and Beyond

As players progress past the initial survival phase, the scope of Minecraft Vanilla expands into inter-dimensional travel. The construction of a obsidian portal leads to the Nether, a hellish, volatile dimension filled with unique resources, hostile piglins, and fast-travel mechanics that drastically alter how players traverse their worlds. Successfully navigating the Nether is required to secure Ender Pearls and Blaze Rods, the essential components needed to craft Eyes of Ender.

These items ultimately point the way toward the Stronghold, a hidden underground labyrinth housing the End Portal. Stepping through this portal leads to The End, a desolate, floating island archipelago dominated by the Ender Dragon. Defeating this formidable boss requires a combination of ranged combat, spatial awareness, and resource preparation, culminating in the rolling of the credits—though, as veteran players know, the end of the credits merely marks the beginning of the true sandbox experience.

With ongoing updates from Mojang Studios keeping the vanilla codebase optimized, bug-free, and subtly enriched with new fauna, blocks, and biomes, Minecraft Vanilla remains the definitive sandbox experience. Whether approached as a relaxing digital LEGO set or a hardcore survival challenge, the game’s first logged tree remains the humble beginning of an infinite adventure.

These materials serve as the foundational biological components required for advanced biofuel refining.
  2. Certified Green Ethanol Trading: The collaboration will facilitate the reliable international trade and supply chain management of certified green ethanol, ensuring strict compliance with global sustainability standards and carbon-reduction metrics.
  3. Research and Development Hub: Plans are underway to establish an advanced Alcohol-to-Jet (AtJ) Research and Development Centre in Hong Kong. This facility will serve as an innovation incubator dedicated to improving conversion efficiencies and reducing the production costs of sustainable jet fuel.
  4. Infrastructure Investment and Technology Transfer: The partnership includes targeted investments in dedicated SAF production facilities in Hong Kong, complemented by comprehensive technology transfer frameworks and ongoing operational support for parallel production facilities situated within Indonesia.

By bridging the gap between raw material origins and technological refinement hubs, the alliance aims to create a secure, scalable, and economically viable supply chain capable of meeting stringent international aviation emission mandates.

Contextualizing the Partnership: The 11th Belt and Road Summit

The formalization of the MoU during the 11th Belt and Road Summit highlights the growing importance of multilateral cooperation in achieving global net-zero carbon targets. The summit, known for convening global leaders, policymakers, investors, and industry innovators, served as an ideal platform for sealing partnerships that transcend traditional geographic boundaries.

For Mekar Ecosystem, the timing of the agreement aligns with broader corporate milestones. Just prior to the Hong Kong summit, PT Mekar Investama Teknologi was recognized at the TOP GRC Awards 2026, securing accolades for excellence in governance, risk management, compliance, and business sustainability. Company leadership emphasized that these internal standards provide the necessary institutional foundation required to execute complex, capital-intensive cross-border infrastructure projects.

Mekar Gandeng Future Fuel Kembangkan Rantai Nilai SAF Lintas Negara

Kristy further noted that the collaboration directly supports the company’s broader corporate vision: to construct an integrated business model that effectively synchronizes natural resources, advanced technology, institutional capital, and productive assets.

Global Aviation and the Urgent Demand for SAF

The aviation sector accounts for roughly 2% of global energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. As international regulatory bodies, including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), enforce increasingly strict carbon offset and reduction schemes—such as the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA)—airlines worldwide are under immense pressure to secure reliable supplies of low-carbon fuels.

Unlike conventional fossil jet fuel, SAF can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% depending on the sustainable feedstock utilized and the production methodology applied. However, the global aviation industry currently faces a severe supply bottleneck. Production volumes of SAF represent a mere fraction of total global jet fuel consumption, largely due to high capital expenditure requirements, complex supply chains, and a scarcity of certified sustainable feedstocks.

By combining Indonesia’s vast agricultural potential and waste management ecosystems—such as the utilization of used cooking oil (UCO) and agricultural lipid byproducts—with Hong Kong’s unparalleled access to international green finance and technical expertise, the Mekar-Future Fuel partnership addresses these structural challenges head-on.

Implications for Indonesia’s Green Economy

The collaboration arrives at a critical juncture for Indonesia as the nation seeks to position itself as a central player in the global renewable energy supply chain. Indonesia possesses abundant biological resources capable of serving as green feedstocks, including palm oil mill effluent (POME), used cooking oil, and various non-food energy crops.

Domestic energy stakeholders are rapidly scaling up infrastructure to capture these resources. For instance, state-owned energy enterprise Pertamina through its subsidiary Pertamina Patra Niaga has similarly embarked on initiatives to develop SAF derived from used cooking oil at its Cilacap refinery. The concurrent rise of private-sector initiatives, such as the Mekar Ecosystem’s cross-border alliance, signals a multi-pronged national effort to integrate Indonesian commodities into high-value global clean energy markets.

Market analysts observe that establishing localized pre-treatment and processing facilities in Indonesia, backed by international R&D and financing from hubs like Hong Kong, offers significant macroeconomic advantages. It ensures that value addition occurs locally before export, creates specialized green-collar jobs, and attracts foreign direct investment (FDI) focused specifically on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) compliant industries.

Broader Economic and Environmental Impacts

The long-term success of the Mekar and Future Fuel Limited partnership could serve as a replicable blueprint for South-South and regional trade cooperation under the broader Belt and Road framework. Key implications of the initiative include:

  • Supply Chain Diversification: Airline operators seeking compliance with European, North American, and Asian mandates will gain access to diversified, certified SAF volumes, mitigating supply volatility.
  • Technological Advancement: The establishment of the Alcohol-to-Jet Research and Development Centre in Hong Kong is expected to accelerate commercial breakthroughs in converting alternative alcohols—derived from biomass—into jet-grade hydrocarbon fuels.
  • Investor Confidence: By demonstrating that environmental sustainability can be successfully paired with rigorous corporate governance and cross-border commercial viability, the partnership is expected to attract subsequent tranches of institutional capital into Southeast Asia’s green infrastructure sector.

Outlook and Future Steps

Following the official signing ceremony on September 9, 2026, technical working groups from both Mekar Ecosystem and Future Fuel Limited are tasked with finalizing operational roadmaps. These include conducting feasibility studies for the proposed Hong Kong production and R&D facilities, establishing transparent supply chain traceability protocols for Indonesian feedstocks, and aligning with international certification bodies to ensure that all produced SAF meets stringent global sustainability criteria.

As the aviation industry accelerates toward its net-zero emissions targets by 2050, initiatives bridging resource-rich emerging economies with global financial and technological centers will remain essential. Through this strategic alliance, Mekar Ecosystem and Future Fuel Limited have positioned themselves at the forefront of the sustainable aviation transition, paving the way for a cleaner, more resilient global aviation network.

Managing Body Weight Effectively After Age 35 Requires Sustainable Lifestyle Shifts Rather Than Restrictive Dieting

by Asro
written by Asro

Maintaining an ideal body weight as one crosses the 35-year threshold is a physiological challenge defined by a complex intersection of metabolic deceleration, hormonal shifts, and changing lifestyle demands. As the body enters this mid-life phase, the tendency to accumulate adipose tissue increases, often exacerbated by the gradual loss of lean muscle mass—a process clinically referred to as sarcopenia. While societal pressure often drives individuals toward rapid-fix, restrictive diets, nutritional experts and clinical researchers increasingly emphasize that long-term weight management is predicated on the consistency of dietary patterns rather than short-term caloric deprivation.

The Biological Context of Mid-Life Metabolic Changes

At the age of 35, the human body begins to undergo subtle yet significant transitions. Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)—the number of calories the body burns at rest—tends to decline by approximately 1% to 2% per decade, a phenomenon often attributed to the reduction in physical activity levels and the natural loss of muscle tissue. Muscle is metabolically expensive; it requires more energy to maintain than fat tissue. Consequently, as muscle mass diminishes, the caloric threshold required for weight maintenance drops accordingly.

Furthermore, hormonal fluctuations, particularly in women approaching the perimenopausal transition and men experiencing a gradual decline in testosterone, can influence fat distribution. These biological markers suggest that the "one-size-fits-all" approach to dieting, which may have been effective in one’s twenties, becomes biologically unsustainable and potentially counterproductive during the fourth decade of life.

Empirical Evidence on Long-Term Weight Management

Extensive research, including longitudinal studies published in journals such as JAMA Network Open, highlights a clear correlation between plant-forward dietary patterns and the mitigation of mid-life weight gain. These studies suggest that shifting the focus from simple calorie counting to nutrient density—specifically through the consumption of vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains—provides a more robust defense against obesity.

The data indicates that individuals who prioritize these food groups show a lower incidence of weight gain over five-year intervals compared to those who rely heavily on ultra-processed foods. Importantly, these findings do not advocate for a rigid vegetarian or vegan mandate, but rather for the integration of high-fiber, nutrient-dense foods into traditional meal structures. By focusing on the "plate composition" rather than the total elimination of specific food categories, individuals can achieve a caloric deficit without the psychological burden of strict food exclusion.

Debunking the Myth of Carbohydrate Elimination

A common misconception among adults seeking to manage their weight is that carbohydrates, particularly staples like rice, are the primary adversaries of health. However, nutritional science distinguishes between refined carbohydrates and complex, fiber-rich sources.

When an individual eliminates entire food groups—such as carbohydrates—they often experience initial, rapid weight loss, which is largely water weight. This is frequently followed by a "rebound effect," where the metabolism slows down further due to the body entering a starvation-like state, leading to increased cravings and eventual weight regain. Instead of removing carbohydrates entirely, dietary guidelines suggest shifting the quality of the intake. Replacing white, refined grains with brown rice, quinoa, oats, or starchy vegetables provides sustained energy release and promotes satiety, which is crucial for preventing late-night snacking and impulsive eating.

The Critical Role of Diverse Protein Intake

Protein is arguably the most essential macronutrient for those over 35, primarily due to its role in muscle protein synthesis. As aging progresses, the body becomes less efficient at processing protein, meaning that higher-quality, diverse sources become necessary to combat muscle loss.

Tips Diet Usia 35 Tahun ke Atas agar Berat Badan Tetap Terkontrol

Diverse protein intake—including poultry, lean cuts of red meat in moderation, fatty fish rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, eggs, and plant-based proteins like tempeh and tofu—ensures a complete amino acid profile. Relying solely on processed meats or single-source proteins can lead to nutritional deficiencies and excessive intake of saturated fats and sodium. Incorporating plant-based proteins also serves a dual purpose: it lowers the overall inflammatory load of the diet, which is an important consideration for cardiovascular health in middle age.

Implementing the Mediterranean Principles

The Mediterranean diet is frequently cited by health organizations as the gold standard for long-term health, not because it is a "diet" in the traditional sense, but because it is a dietary pattern. Its emphasis on unsaturated fats—derived from olive oil, nuts, seeds, and fatty fish—provides essential nutrients that support hormonal health and brain function.

Studies published in Advances in Nutrition have shown that high adherence to Mediterranean-style eating results in a 9% lower risk of becoming overweight or obese. This approach focuses on the inclusion of healthy fats rather than the complete restriction of lipids. For the average adult over 35, incorporating a handful of walnuts, a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, or a portion of salmon into their weekly routine can significantly alter satiety levels and metabolic health.

Addressing the Impact of Ultra-Processed Foods

The rise of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) represents perhaps the greatest challenge to weight management in the modern era. These products are engineered to be hyper-palatable, often containing high levels of sugar, sodium, and additives that bypass the body’s natural satiety signaling.

For those over 35, the metabolic impact of these foods is more pronounced than in younger populations. Frequent consumption of UPFs is linked not only to weight gain but also to chronic inflammation, which exacerbates metabolic syndrome. The transition away from these items should be approached as a gradual reduction in frequency rather than an overnight prohibition. By replacing one or two ultra-processed snacks per day with whole-food alternatives, individuals can make meaningful progress toward their health goals without feeling deprived.

The Failure of Extreme Dieting: A Clinical Perspective

Clinicians warn that "yo-yo dieting"—the cycle of losing and regaining weight through extreme, short-term measures—can cause long-term damage to the body’s metabolic framework. When the body undergoes rapid weight fluctuations, the hormonal balance, particularly leptin and ghrelin (the hormones responsible for hunger and fullness), becomes dysregulated.

The professional consensus for individuals in this age bracket is to prioritize "metabolic flexibility." This is achieved through a combination of:

  1. Consistent Sleep Hygiene: Lack of sleep increases cortisol levels, which is directly linked to abdominal fat storage.
  2. Strength Training: Supplementing diet with resistance exercises at least twice a week to preserve muscle mass.
  3. Hydration: Often, the body confuses thirst for hunger; maintaining adequate water intake is a simple but effective strategy for appetite regulation.
  4. Mindful Eating: Taking the time to consume meals without distractions allows the brain to register fullness, preventing overeating.

Conclusion: Toward a Sustainable Future

The journey toward maintaining an ideal weight after 35 is not a sprint; it is an exercise in long-term habit formation. The evidence clearly indicates that success is not found in the latest fad diet or the complete elimination of macronutrients. Instead, it is found in the steady adoption of nutrient-dense, whole-food-based habits that can be sustained for decades.

By diversifying protein sources, embracing healthy fats, moderating the consumption of ultra-processed goods, and maintaining a balanced relationship with carbohydrates, adults can successfully navigate the physiological challenges of mid-life. Ultimately, the objective should not be to reach a specific number on the scale as quickly as possible, but to foster a metabolic environment that supports energy, longevity, and overall well-being. As the body changes, so too must our approach to nutrition—moving away from the restrictive patterns of youth toward a more thoughtful, balanced, and sustainable way of living.

Chronology of Life Jacket Discovery in the Search for Five Missing Journalists and Crew in the Sunda Strait

by Asro
written by Asro

JAKARTA — Joint Search and Rescue (SAR) operations in the treacherous waters of the Sunda Strait reached a critical juncture on Thursday, September 10, 2026, as rescue teams recovered a life jacket and makeshift flotation devices during their sweep for eight individuals reported missing. The victims, comprising five journalists and three crew members, were aboard a speedboat that lost contact days earlier under adverse maritime conditions. While the discovery offers a tangible lead in an otherwise bleak operation, naval authorities have emphasized that it remains unconfirmed whether the retrieved equipment belongs to any of the missing passengers.

The ongoing search underscores the extreme volatility of maritime navigation in the Sunda Strait—a vital yet perilous waterway connecting the islands of Java and Sumatra. As specialized vessel units, aircraft, and personnel from the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), the National SAR Agency (Basarnas), and local volunteers comb through a wide radius, the recovery of safety gear has intensified both urgency and anxiety among families and media organizations awaiting definitive news.

Chronology of the Discovery

The breakthrough occurred on the third day of the intensive SAR operation. According to the Commander of the Banten Naval Base (Danlanal Banten), Lieutenant Colonel (Navy) Wawan Subagyo Mardani, the discovery was made by the Indonesian Navy patrol vessel KAL Anyer while executing tactical sweep patterns designated for the mission.

At approximately 15:10 Western Indonesia Time (WIB), lookouts aboard KAL Anyer spotted an isolated floating object bobbing on the surface. Upon closing in on the coordinates, the crew identified the item as a standard marine life jacket.

Lieutenant Colonel Wawan pinpointed the exact location of the find at coordinates 06°04’40" South Latitude and 105°45’17" East Longitude. Upon securing the life jacket, the patrol team conducted a broader visual scan of the immediate vicinity. Their vigilance paid off when they discovered an additional improvised flotation device constructed from tied white plastic bottles floating nearby. Both items were retrieved and logged as evidence to be analyzed by disaster victim identification (DVI) and investigative teams.

"So, at the position of latitude and longitude 06 degrees, 04 minutes, 40 seconds south and 105 degrees, 45 minutes, 17 seconds east at 15.10 WIB, KAL Anyer spotted an object suspected to be a life jacket," Wawan stated on Thursday, September 10, 2026. "After the object was approached, it was taken and lifted, and around that object, there was also a float in the form of a white bottle."

Background Context: The Disappearance in the Sunda Strait

The incident began earlier in the week when a speedboat carrying a delegation of five journalists and three boat handlers lost all communication channels while transiting a stretch of the Sunda Strait known for unpredictable currents, sudden squalls, and heavy commercial maritime traffic. The media crew had been en route to cover a marine assignment when their vessel failed to check in at scheduled intervals, triggering an emergency alert.

The Sunda Strait is historically recognized as one of Indonesia’s most challenging maritime corridors. Spanning the passage between the Java Sea and the Indian Ocean, the strait experiences complex tidal movements, deep underwater trenches, and seasonal high-velocity winds that can rapidly turn calm waters into hazardous zones for small-to-medium watercraft.

When initial calls to the speedboat went unanswered, local maritime authorities immediately escalated the status from a missed communication to a full-scale search and rescue operation. Given the passage’s strong westerly and southerly currents, modeling experts projected that any drifting debris or survivors could be displaced across a vast geographical expanse, complicating the deployment of search assets.

Kronologi Temuan Life Jacket dalam Pencarian 5 Jurnalis Hilang di Selat Sunda

Mobilization of Joint SAR Resources

The search operation has mobilized a multi-agency response team coordinated by Basarnas, with crucial tactical backing from the Indonesian Navy. Naval assets, including KAL Anyer and other specialized patrol boats equipped with sonar and radar capabilities, have been deployed alongside rubber boats and aerial surveillance drones.

Rescue teams have divided the search area into several distinct sectors, prioritizing drift-trajectory models calculated from meteorological data collected at the time the speedboat went missing. Wind speeds, wave heights, and surface current vectors supplied by Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) have been instrumental in narrowing down high-probability drift zones where the life jacket was ultimately found.

Despite the utilization of advanced tracking mechanisms, operations have faced persistent hurdles. Inclement weather, periodic low visibility, and high swells have repeatedly forced temporary suspensions of aerial sweeps, placing the heavy lifting of the search onto surface vessels navigating hostile waters.

Official Responses and Family Anxieties

The families of the missing journalists and crew members remain in a state of agonizing suspense at the designated command post near the coast. Media advocacy groups and journalistic associations across Indonesia have expressed profound concern, calling for an intensification of search efforts and urging the government to deploy all available national assets to locate the missing persons.

Naval leadership has maintained absolute transparency regarding the findings while urging caution against premature speculation. Lieutenant Colonel Wawan reiterated that the recovery of the life jacket does not automatically confirm the safety or fate of the passengers. Marine safety equipment frequently detaches from vessels during heavy turbulence, or it may have been deployed proactively before an emergency arose.

"We cannot jump to conclusions until physical evidence or the victims themselves are found," a senior Basarnas spokesperson noted during a daily operational briefing. "Every piece of debris recovered is cataloged and cross-referenced with the manifest and equipment logs of the lost speedboat."

Broader Implications for Maritime Safety and Press Operations

The unfolding tragedy has cast a sharp spotlight on the safety protocols governing media personnel deployed on maritime assignments. Investigative reporting and field assignments in coastal and open-sea environments inherently carry elevated physical risks, yet adherence to standard marine safety regulations—such as mandatory GPS transponder usage, satellite communication redundancy, and certified vessel seaworthiness—varies widely.

Industry analysts and press freedom organizations have renewed calls for media corporations to establish rigorous risk-assessment frameworks for field reporters. Ensuring that personnel are equipped with personal locator beacons (PLBs) and that chartered vessels undergo stringent safety inspections can dramatically alter survival outcomes in maritime mishaps.

As daylight wanes and the search operation enters its subsequent phases, the joint SAR team remains committed to expanding its perimeter based on the drift patterns suggested by the latest discoveries. For now, the small white bottle float and the solitary life jacket pulled from the waves of the Sunda Strait stand as the primary physical markers in an ongoing race against time to bring eight missing individuals home.

Indonesia Has No Immediate Plans to Cut Value-Added Tax Rates Despite Japan’s Policy Shift, Says Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa

by Asro
written by Asro

Jakarta – The Indonesian government has firmly stated that it has no immediate plans to lower the tariff for the Value-Added Tax (PPN), defying global comparisons following similar policy adjustments in other major economies. The announcement was made by Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa during a press briefing at the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

Minister Purbaya was responding to media inquiries regarding Indonesia’s potential stance on consumption taxes, particularly in light of recent moves by the Japanese government. Tokyo has announced an aggressive policy shift to temporarily slash its consumption tax rate on food items to just 1 percent for a two-year period, slated to begin in April 2027. The Japanese initiative aims to stimulate domestic demand and rescue its economy from persistent stagnation and cooling growth.

However, Purbaya emphasized that macroeconomic conditions in Indonesia differ significantly, requiring a distinct fiscal strategy. While the government continues to closely monitor global economic dynamics and budgetary indicators, an indiscriminate reduction in the PPN rate remains off the table due to strict fiscal constraints and the imminent risk of widening the national budget deficit.

"Not yet, but I am watching it, I monitor it continuously," Purbaya told reporters at his office in Jakarta.

Understanding Japan’s Fiscal Maneuver

To contextualize the global discourse on consumption taxes, the decision by Japanese authorities to lower food consumption taxes is a direct policy response to a prolonged economic slowdown within the world’s fourth-largest economy. Japan has grappled with sluggish consumer spending, demographic headwinds, and inflationary pressures that have weighed heavily on household disposable incomes. By reducing the tax burden on essential goods like food, Tokyo hopes to reinvigorate consumer confidence and jumpstart stagnant growth trajectories.

In contrast, Indonesia has chosen a targeted approach to safeguard domestic purchasing power rather than implementing a broad-based tax cut. Purbaya pointed out that the Indonesian government relies heavily on a robust framework of state-funded subsidies and social assistance programs to protect vulnerable populations from inflationary shocks and fluctuating commodity prices.

Purbaya Tegaskan Pemangkasan PPN Bisa Berdampak ke Hilangnya Subsidi Buat Masyarakat

The Fiscal Dilemma: Balancing Deficits and State Subsidies

Addressing the hypothetical scenario of eliminating or drastically reducing the PPN rate, Purbaya provided a candid assessment of the fiscal realities facing the state budget (APBN). He noted that broad tax cuts would severely compromise government revenues, immediately triggering an unsustainable expansion of the fiscal deficit.

"It cannot be done just like that. If it drops, people will say the deficit is expanding, it’s not that simple. If it were up to me, I’d want the tax to be zero, but if it’s zero, we have no money. Later, you all will protest, and we will have to borrow for everything," Purbaya explained.

The Minister underscored that modern fiscal policy management requires a delicate balancing act to ensure long-term economic sustainability. Any artificial reduction in state revenue streams, such as a major PPN cut, would inevitably force the government to scale back critical public expenditures—most notably national subsidies for energy, electricity, and basic foodstuffs.

Furthermore, Purbaya warned against the heavy reliance on foreign or domestic debt to finance structural shortfalls. While state debt is utilized strategically to spur economic growth and development, the government remains acutely aware of public sentiment regarding the national debt ceiling and the velocity of its accumulation.

"So, we can finance economic growth partially through debt, but we must also ensure that the debt does not grow too large. Even now, many people are complaining, saying ‘more debt, more debt,’" he stated. "Therefore, if I reduce the PPN and various other taxes without precise calculations and before the broader economy has fully recovered, state revenues will simply drop. Afterward, I won’t be able to provide subsidies. That is why we must weigh everything very carefully."

Broader Economic Pressures and Global Volatility

Purbaya’s remarks come at a time when the Ministry of Finance is navigating multiple external and internal economic pressures. Beyond domestic consumption trends, the Indonesian fiscal authority is keeping a watchful eye on commodity markets and geopolitical tensions that threaten global supply chains.

Purbaya Tegaskan Pemangkasan PPN Bisa Berdampak ke Hilangnya Subsidi Buat Masyarakat

Just days prior to his comments on the PPN, Purbaya had to reassure the public regarding the resilience of the state budget in the face of soaring international crude oil prices, which have spiked past US$100 per barrel. Driven largely by geopolitical friction in the Middle East—specifically involving Iran and the United States—the energy price surge poses a direct threat to Indonesia’s state budget, given the high costs associated with domestic fuel and energy subsidies.

The compounding challenges of maintaining energy subsidies while managing global inflationary pressures make fiscal conservatism a necessity for Jakarta. Slashing consumption taxes under these volatile conditions, according to financial analysts, could severely undermine the government’s fiscal buffer and credit rating.

Implications for Businesses and Consumers

For domestic businesses, particularly in the retail, manufacturing, and consumer goods sectors, the confirmation that PPN rates will remain steady provides regulatory and financial predictability, even if it dashes hopes for immediate tax relief. Businesses can continue financial planning under the existing tax framework without anticipating sudden structural shifts that often accompany broad fiscal reforms.

For consumers, the government’s continued commitment to targeted subsidies remains the primary vehicle for economic cushioning. Rather than receiving indirect relief through lower consumption taxes, lower- and middle-income households will continue to rely on direct social assistance programs, electricity tariff adjustments, and subsidized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and fuel allocations managed through the national budget.

Looking Ahead: Monitoring Global and Domestic Indicators

As the global economy moves closer to 2027—the year Japan implements its food consumption tax cut—Indonesian financial authorities maintain that they will observe the outcomes of such international experiments. However, Jakarta’s immediate roadmap prioritizes fiscal prudence, debt stabilization, and targeted social welfare over sweeping tax cuts.

The Ministry of Finance reiterated that any future adjustments to fiscal policy will be contingent upon sustainable revenue generation, robust economic recovery metrics, and the preservation of a healthy fiscal deficit ratio well within statutory limits. Until those conditions are definitively met, the current PPN structure remains firmly in place as a cornerstone of Indonesia’s national revenue architecture.

From Pasar Kebayoran Lama to Entrepreneurial Success: The Journey of Raihandy in Navigating Jakarta’s Dynamic Retail Landscape

by Asro
written by Asro

The bustling corridors of Pasar Kebayoran Lama in South Jakarta serve as more than just a center for commerce; for 25-year-old Raihandy, these narrow walkways acted as a formative classroom that shaped his trajectory from a child of market vendors to a burgeoning entrepreneur in the retail and gadget sector. Born in Jakarta on February 13, 1999, Raihandy’s story reflects the resilience and adaptability characteristic of Indonesia’s urban youth, who increasingly leverage digital transformation to bridge the gap between traditional market roots and modern consumer expectations.

The Formative Years: Lessons from the Market Floor

Raihandy’s introduction to the mechanics of supply and demand began long before he reached primary school. While most children were occupied with playground games, Raihandy spent his formative years observing the daily rhythm of Pasar Kebayoran Lama. The environment—a cacophony of vendor cries, vehicle horns, and the constant flux of thousands of shoppers—provided a masterclass in human psychology and transactional negotiation.

According to economic sociologists, individuals raised in trade-centric environments often develop a heightened sense of "commercial intuition." For Raihandy, this manifested as an early understanding of inventory turnover and customer relationship management. By the time he reached his middle school years, the passive observation of his parents’ business had evolved into an active desire for financial independence. This drive was not born of necessity alone, but of a burgeoning ambition to define his own path within the competitive landscape of Jakarta’s informal economy.

Chronology of a Digital Transformation

The transition from a traditional market observer to a tech-savvy business owner can be traced through several distinct phases:

  • Early Childhood (1999–2005): Exposure to the daily operations of a family-run kiosk in Pasar Kebayoran Lama. Fundamental understanding of customer service and price negotiation established.
  • Middle and High School Years (2010–2017): Raihandy begins his foray into independent entrepreneurship. During this period, he recognized the limitations of brick-and-mortar limitations and began experimenting with digital platforms.
  • The Digital Shift (2013–2017): Utilizing zero-capital strategies, Raihandy leveraged the internet to act as a middleman, facilitating transactions between wholesalers and buyers. This phase was critical for building his initial network and capital.
  • Vocational Training and Scaling (2017–2018): Upon completing his studies at a vocational high school (SMK), Raihandy formally transitioned his side hustles into a structured business entity.
  • Post-Vocational Growth (2018–Present): The establishment of a dedicated retail and gadget kiosk, supported by a small team of employees, marking his transition from a solopreneur to a business manager.

The Rise of Digital Micro-Entrepreneurship in Indonesia

Raihandy’s journey coincides with a broader shift in the Indonesian retail landscape. Data from the Indonesian E-commerce Association (idEA) indicates that the country’s digital economy has seen exponential growth over the past decade. As of 2023, the Indonesian digital economy was valued at approximately $82 billion, with projections suggesting it could reach $130 billion by 2025.

Much of this growth is driven by the "bottom-up" approach exemplified by Raihandy. By utilizing social media platforms and e-commerce marketplaces, young Indonesians are effectively bypassing traditional barriers to entry that previously required significant physical capital. For Raihandy, the internet was not merely a tool for communication, but a foundational asset that allowed him to operate without the burden of overhead costs during his formative years.

Analysis: The Integration of Traditional and Modern Commerce

Market analysts often point to the "omnichannel" approach as the future of retail. Raihandy’s model is a practical embodiment of this theory. By maintaining a physical presence in a traditional market while utilizing digital channels for marketing and customer acquisition, he captures both the local, walk-in traffic of Kebayoran Lama and the broader, digital-savvy demographic of Jakarta.

This hybrid approach addresses several challenges inherent in the Indonesian market:

  1. Trust: The physical kiosk serves as a touchpoint for verification, which remains vital in the high-value gadget industry.
  2. Reach: Digital platforms allow for a broader customer base, enabling the business to remain profitable even when foot traffic in the physical market fluctuates.
  3. Adaptability: The ability to pivot inventory based on real-time data from online platforms allows small businesses to minimize losses from stagnant stock.

Perspectives on Youth Entrepreneurship

The success of young entrepreneurs like Raihandy has garnered attention from local observers and community leaders. Mentors in the retail sector often emphasize that the "market-first" upbringing provides a competitive edge that cannot be taught in a traditional classroom.

"The ability to read a room, understand a customer’s hesitation, and close a deal is an art form," says a local retail consultant familiar with the dynamics of South Jakarta markets. "When you combine that street-level expertise with a proficiency in digital tools, you create a very potent business model. Raihandy is part of a generation that is successfully bridging the gap between the ‘pasar’ legacy and the modern digital era."

Broader Implications for the Workforce

The trajectory of Raihandy’s career also highlights the evolving role of Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Indonesia. With a focus on practical skills, the vocational education system is increasingly aligning with the needs of the informal and small-to-medium enterprise (SME) sectors.

The growth of such businesses has a direct impact on local employment. By evolving his operation to include employees, Raihandy is contributing to the local labor market, demonstrating that SME growth is a vital engine for economic stability in urban centers like Jakarta. Furthermore, his reliance on self-taught skills and digital agility serves as a case study for policy makers interested in promoting youth employment and reducing the reliance on traditional corporate job markets.

Challenges and Future Outlook

Despite his success, the path remains fraught with challenges. The retail gadget sector is notoriously volatile, characterized by thin profit margins and rapid technological obsolescence. Keeping up with market trends, managing supply chain logistics, and maintaining customer loyalty in a saturated digital market requires constant vigilance.

Raihandy’s ability to navigate these challenges will likely depend on his continued willingness to adapt. As he moves forward, the integration of more sophisticated inventory management software and the expansion of his digital footprint will be essential steps.

Ultimately, Raihandy’s story is a testament to the idea that success is not merely a product of capital, but of environment, timing, and the audacity to act. From the busy stalls of Kebayoran Lama to the digital storefronts of the modern web, his experience serves as a microcosm of the changing face of Indonesian commerce.

Conclusion

As Raihandy looks toward the future of his enterprise, his focus remains on growth and sustainability. He views his current success as a baseline for future endeavors, acknowledging that the principles he learned as a child—hard work, resilience, and the value of a strong network—remain the bedrock of his operations.

For many young Indonesians watching his progress, Raihandy provides a tangible roadmap. He represents a generation that is not waiting for opportunities to be handed to them, but is actively carving out space in the economy by blending the time-honored traditions of the Indonesian marketplace with the limitless possibilities of the digital age. As the retail landscape in Jakarta continues to evolve, the ability to synthesize these two worlds will likely remain the defining factor for the next generation of Indonesian entrepreneurs.

Warisan Leluhur Tak Boleh Hilang MPSI dan Warga Wanam Rangkai Kembali Jejak Malind Maklew War

by Asro
written by Asro

Merah Pusaka Stratejik Indonesia (MPSI), in close collaboration with the Village Government and the indigenous communities of Wanam, has officially initiated a comprehensive cultural preservation project aimed at reconstructing the history and clan genealogies of the Malind Maklew sub-ethnic group. The milestone effort kicked off through an intensive Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held in Wanam Village, located within the Merauke Regency, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. This initiative represents a vital step toward safeguarding the rich oral traditions, ancestral lineages, and historical footprint of the indigenous populations of South Papua against the backdrop of rapid modernization and infrastructural development.

The newly launched documentation project seeks to address a critical vulnerability faced by many indigenous communities across Indonesia: the gradual loss of oral history as older generations pass away. By systematically gathering, verifying, and recording foundational historical narratives, the project ensures that the heritage of the Malind Maklew sub-tribe remains intact for future generations.

Unearthing Oral Histories and Kinship Networks

The core objective of the Focus Group Discussion in Wanam Village was to harvest deeply embedded oral accounts regarding family origins, intricate kinship networks, historical settlement patterns, and the generational migrations of the Malind Maklew people. For centuries, these narratives have been transmitted primarily through spoken word, preserved in memories, songs, and traditional ceremonies rather than written archives.

During the sessions, participants mapped out the complex migration routes and territorial expansions of their ancestors, shedding light on how various family branches established roots in the fertile lands of Wanam. This foundational documentation serves as a critical bridge connecting contemporary community members to their historical antecedents, fostering a profound sense of identity and collective memory.

Local stakeholders emphasized that the sheer diversity of the sub-ethnic group requires a methodical, step-by-step approach. The Malind Maklew community in the region comprises approximately 12 distinct clans (marga), each possessing unique historical trajectories, ancestral legends, and specific branch lineages. Consequently, the ongoing research demands extensive engagement with traditional elders, clan heads, and esteemed community leaders who hold authoritative knowledge of their respective family histories.

The Methodology of Community-Led Documentation

Addressing the participants during the forum, MPSI Executive Director Noor Azhari underscored the fundamental principle guiding the organization’s involvement in the region. He stressed that while external technical assistance is being provided, the community itself must remain the primary driver and absolute owner of the historical narrative.

Warisan Leluhur Tak Boleh Hilang, MPSI dan Warga Wanam Rangkai Kembali Jejak Malind Maklew

"MPSI is here to facilitate the documentation process, not to dictate or define the community’s genealogy," Noor Azhari stated during the proceedings. "History is living and is inherently owned by the community itself. Therefore, every single piece of information gathered must be thoroughly cross-checked, confirmed, and validated collectively by each respective clan."

This participatory framework ensures that the resulting historical records are authentic, respectful of customary protocols, and completely free of external bias or misinterpretation. By placing the authority of validation back into the hands of traditional leaders, MPSI and the Wanam village administration are fostering an environment of trust and mutual respect.

Background and Broader Regional Context

The initiation of this cultural documentation project in Wanam occurs within a complex socio-economic landscape. In recent years, the Merauke Regency and the broader South Papua province have experienced heightened attention due to national strategic projects (Proyek Strategis Nasional or PSN) and large-scale agricultural and infrastructural developments. While these initiatives bring economic shifts, they also accelerate demographic changes and societal transformations, making the preservation of indigenous identity more urgent than ever.

Earlier dialogues in the region—such as community consultations regarding the continuation of regional PSN developments—have highlighted the local population’s desire for balanced progress that respects indigenous rights and cultural preservation. The Malind Maklew heritage project is a direct response to this need, ensuring that as physical infrastructure evolves, the spiritual and historical pillars of the indigenous inhabitants are simultaneously reinforced and protected.

Implications of Genealogical and Historical Preservation

The systematic recording of clan lineages and historical migrations carries profound implications for the Malind Maklew community and the governance of indigenous rights in South Papua.

  1. Strengthening Customary Land Rights: In many parts of Papua, land ownership is inextricably linked to ancestral lineage and clan history. A well-documented and verified genealogical record provides indigenous communities with stronger evidentiary foundations when engaging with government bodies and corporate entities regarding customary land rights (hak ulayat).
  2. Cultural Resilience: By transforming oral histories into structured archives, the youth of Wanam and surrounding villages gain accessible educational resources. This bridges the generational gap, ensuring that cultural identity remains resilient in the face of external globalizing influences.
  3. Informed Regional Planning: Policymakers and local government agencies can utilize these comprehensive anthropological insights to design more culturally sensitive regional development policies, ensuring that indigenous communities are genuine partners in the future growth of Merauke.

Chronology of the Initiative

  • Early 2026: Preliminary discussions between MPSI representatives, local village authorities, and Wanam community leaders regarding the vulnerability of oral histories and the necessity of cultural preservation.
  • Mid-2026: Formulation of a collaborative framework emphasizing community-led data collection, focusing specifically on the 12 primary clans of the Malind Maklew sub-ethnic group.
  • September 8, 2026: Official convening of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in Wanam Village, bringing together traditional elders, clan heads, and executive directors to map out kinship networks and historical migration routes.
  • Ongoing Phase: Systematic verification and cross-checking of gathered genealogical data under the direct supervision of traditional clan authorities, with continued facilitation by MPSI.

Outlook and Future Steps

As the verification phase progresses, MPSI and the Wanam village government plan to expand the documentation sessions to cover additional sub-branches of the 12 identified clans. The ultimate goal is to compile the verified accounts into a comprehensive cultural archive that can serve both as a heritage repository for the Malind Maklew people and as a reference document for educational and customary governance purposes.

Through this meticulous blending of traditional indigenous knowledge and structured modern facilitation, the ancestral heritage of Wanam is not only being preserved from fading into obscurity but is actively being restored as a living, dynamic foundation for the future of South Papua.

Timnas Indonesia Ready for Glory: Full Schedule and Squad Breakdown for FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 Under Coach John Herdman

by Asro
written by Asro

The international football calendar for late 2026 promises high-stakes action in Southeast Asia as the much-anticipated FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 takes center stage. For the national football team of Indonesia, commonly known as Timnas Indonesia, this tournament represents a pivotal milestone in their ongoing development and regional ambitions. Scheduled to run from September to October 2026, the competition carries immense weight not only for regional supremacy but also because it falls entirely within the official FIFA International Match Window. This crucial scheduling detail ensures that all participating member associations have full access to their overseas-based professionals, setting the stage for the highest standard of competitive play in the history of the regional tournament.

Under the tactical guidance of head coach John Herdman, the Garuda squad has entered an intensive preparation phase. Herdman, known for his meticulous strategic planning and ability to unite diverse player pools, faces a demanding path ahead. Drawn into Group A, Timnas Indonesia will share the group stage with regional rivals Singapore, Malaysia, and Bangladesh. In a massive boost for the home side, all Group A fixtures will be hosted at the iconic Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK) in Jakarta, providing a roaring, partisan atmosphere that could prove to be the ultimate twelfth man for the Indonesian campaign.

The Tournament Context and Strategic Significance

The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 arrives at a transformative time for Indonesian football. Over recent years, the national team has undergone a massive structural and talent-acquisition evolution, integrating elite diaspora players from top European leagues with the finest talents cultivated domestically. This blend of technical sophistication, physical resilience, and tactical discipline has elevated Indonesia’s standing within the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

For John Herdman, who took the helm with a mandate to push the Garuda squad onto the continental and global stages, this tournament serves as an invaluable testing ground. Winning Group A is not merely a matter of regional pride; it is an absolute necessity for tournament survival under the current format. The winner of Group A will advance directly to the championship final, where they will face the winner of Group B—a competitive bracket anticipated to feature regional powerhouses such as Thailand or Vietnam. Any slip-up in the group stage could derail the nation’s championship aspirations, making every match at the Gelora Bung Karno a must-win encounter.

Comprehensive Group A Match Schedule

The journey for Timnas Indonesia begins in late September, packed into an intense schedule that will test the squad’s depth, physical conditioning, and mental fortitude. All matches will kick off in prime evening slots to accommodate local fans and maximize television viewership across the archipelago.

Friday, 25 September 2026: Indonesia vs. Singapore
The opening fixture pits Indonesia against neighboring rivals Singapore. Scheduled for a 20:00 WIB kick-off at the SUGBK, this match is vital for setting the tone of the tournament. Singapore historically presents a defensively compact and highly disciplined block, requiring Herdman’s men to display creativity, patience, and clinical finishing in the final third. Securing an early three points is essential to calm early tournament nerves and establish dominance in Group A.

Monday, 28 September 2026: Malaysia vs. Indonesia
Just three days later, the stakes skyrocket as Indonesia meets Malaysia in one of Southeast Asia’s most storied and fiercely contested derby matches. Set for a 20:00 WIB start at the same venue, this fixture carries immense emotional and psychological weight for supporters of both nations. Matches between the Garuda and the Malayan Tigers are traditionally characterized by high intensity, tactical chess matches, and fierce battles across every blade of grass. Managing player fatigue from the opening match while executing a precise game plan will be the primary challenge for the coaching staff.

Thursday, 1 October 2026: Indonesia vs. Bangladesh
The group stage concludes for Indonesia on Thursday, 1 October 2026, with a 19:30 WIB kick-off against Bangladesh at SUGBK. While Bangladesh may enter the fixture as the theoretical underdog, their physical style of play and recent improvements in defensive organization mean Indonesia cannot afford any complacency. Depending on the results of the first two matches, this final group fixture could either be a coronation securing a spot in the final or a high-pressure qualification showdown.

The Power of the FIFA International Match Window

One of the most defining aspects of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 is its alignment with the official FIFA International Match Window. In previous editions of regional tournaments, clubs—particularly those in Europe and the Americas—were under no obligation to release their players, often depriving Southeast Asian nations of their premier talents.

The 2026 tournament format removes this barrier. This regulatory enforcement is a massive win for John Herdman, who can now orchestrate his tactical blueprints around a full complement of elite players. Analysts note that this level playing field allows Indonesia to field arguably the strongest roster in its modern footballing history. The ability to call upon players competing at high levels in the Dutch Eredivisie, the Italian Serie A, the Belgian Pro League, and other competitive European competitions fundamentally changes the tactical ceiling of the team.

Squad Depth and Projected Player Pool

With the expanded access provided by the FIFA window, John Herdman is widely expected to name a robust 30-man provisional squad to navigate the physical toll of three high-intensity matches played within a span of less than a week. The depth of talent available to the coaching staff reflects the success of PSSI’s long-term player identification and naturalization strategy, combined with the steady rise of domestic league stars.

Goalkeeping Options
Between the posts, the competition for the starting jersey is fiercely contested. Europe-based standout Maarten Paes brings exceptional shot-stopping ability and modern sweeper-keeper distribution, while Emil Audero offers vast top-flight experience from European leagues. Domestic stalwart Nadeo Argawinata provides reliable continuity and deep familiarity with regional playing conditions, ensuring that the goalkeeping department remains one of the team’s strongest assets.

Defensive Fortress
The defensive unit boasts a blend of European pedigree and domestic grit. Versatile and commanding central defender Jay Idzes is anticipated to anchor the backline, likely partnered with towering defensive assets such as Elkan Baggott, Mees Hilgers, or Rizky Ridho. The flanks are expected to feature high-intensity runners and technically gifted modern full-backs, including Kevin Diks, Dean James, Nathan Tjoe-A-On, Sandy Walsh, Shayne Pattynama, Calvin Verdonk, and Dony Tri Pamungkas. Additional defensive flexibility is provided by experienced heads like Jordi Amat and emerging prospects such as Tim Geypens.

Midfield Dynamism
In the engine room, tactical balance will be paramount. Thom Haye is expected to pull the strings as the deep-lying playmaker, dictating the tempo with his exquisite range of passing. He will likely be supported by industrious box-to-box operators such as Ivar Jenner, Joey Pelupessy, and Eliano Reijnders. Experienced veterans like Marc Klok and Ricky Kambuaya offer tactical maturity, stability, and leadership qualities essential for controlling the midfield battle against physically robust opponents like Malaysia and Bangladesh.

Tactical Challenges and Broader Implications

While the wealth of talent at John Herdman’s disposal is undeniable, assembling a cohesive unit in a short preparation window remains a significant managerial challenge. Blending European-trained tactical habits with the characteristics of locally based players requires precise training methods and clear communication. Herdman’s tactical philosophy traditionally emphasizes high pressing, tactical flexibility, and swift transitions from defense to attack—qualities that suit the athletic profile of the current Indonesian player pool.

Furthermore, playing every group match at home in front of tens of thousands of passionate supporters introduces a double-edged sword. While the deafening support of the Garuda faithful at SUGBK provides an undeniable psychological lift, it also places immense expectation on the players to dominate matches from the opening whistle. Managing crowd expectations and maintaining emotional discipline during high-octane encounters, particularly against fierce rivals like Malaysia, will be a crucial responsibility for the team captains and coaching staff.

Beyond the immediate goal of lifting the trophy, the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 holds long-term implications for Indonesian football. A successful tournament campaign on home soil will further validate the nation’s strategic investments in sports science, infrastructure, and talent pooling. It will also send a resounding signal to the rest of the Asian confederation that Timnas Indonesia is not merely a regional participant, but a rising continental force capable of competing at the highest levels.

As September 2026 approaches, anticipation continues to build across the nation. With world-class scheduling, a formidable squad under an astute manager, and the unmatched energy of the Gelora Bung Karno crowd, Timnas Indonesia stands on the precipice of a historic campaign. The stage is set, the opponents are known, and the Garuda are poised for battle.

Hasil Liga Champions: Barcelona Hancurkan Feyenoord 5-1, Yamal dan Raphinha Moncer

by Asro
written by Asro

Barcelona opened their 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League campaign in resounding fashion on Thursday, securing a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord at the iconic Camp Nou. The fixture, played in the early hours of Thursday, September 10, 2026, served as a powerful statement of intent from the Catalan giants under the tactical guidance of head manager Hansi Flick. Highlighted by the dazzling individual brilliance and cohesive teamwork of young prodigy Lamine Yamal and Brazilian winger Raphinha, Blaugrana completely dismantled their opponents to claim an early maximum of three points in the newly formatted European elite competition.

The emphatic triumph not only cements Barcelona’s status as formidable contenders for the continental crown this season but also demonstrates the depth and fluidity of a squad that has integrated new faces seamlessly into Flick’s high-intensity tactical framework. From the opening whistle to the final blow of the referee’s whistle, the home side dictated the tempo, utilizing high pressing, intricate passing sequences, and devastating counter-attacks that left Feyenoord’s defensive structure perpetually exposed.

Main Facts and Match Overview

The fixture at Camp Nou unfolded under an electric atmosphere as supporters packed the stands to witness the club’s return to elite European football. Barcelona dominated virtually every key statistical metric of the match, boasting over sixty percent possession and registering nearly double the amount of shots on target compared to the visiting Dutch contingent.

Raphinha spearheaded the offensive masterclass by netting a crucial brace, while Lamine Yamal orchestrated the attack with supreme vision, contributing a stunning direct free-kick goal and multiple assists. New additions also left their mark on the scoresheet, with Karim Adeyemi and recent arrival Gabriel Jesus both finding the back of the net to compound Feyenoord’s misery. Despite a spirited second-half effort from the visitors that yielded a lone consolation goal through Sem Steijn, the gulf in class between the two sides remained evident throughout the ninety minutes.

Chronological Match Breakdown and Tactical Evolution

The tone of the match was set remarkably early. Just three minutes into the contest, Barcelona established a relentless rhythm. Raphinha received a precise pass from Lamine Yamal near the edge of the final third. Displaying exceptional close control, the Brazilian winger skillfully drifted past two converging Feyenoord defenders before unleashing a venomous, low-driven strike past goalkeeper Tjark Ernst, sending the home supporters into raptures and giving the hosts an ideal 1-0 advantage.

Feyenoord attempted to regroup, trying to slow down the tempo through organized defensive blocks, but Barcelona’s relentless pressure continually forced errors in the middle of the park. In the 22nd minute, the pressure paid off once more. Karim Adeyemi, demonstrating remarkable composure, collected space outside the penalty area and unleashed a ferocious, curling effort that eluded Ernst’s outstretched gloves, doubling Barcelona’s lead to 2-0 and further tightening their grip on the fixture.

As the second half commenced, Hansi Flick’s tactical adjustments ensured that Barcelona’s intensity did not drop. The hosts picked up precisely where they left off, probing the Feyenoord defense with incisive vertical passes. In the 57th minute, Raphinha struck again. Midfielder Pedri slipped a sublime, defence-splitting through ball into the path of the Brazilian, who clinically slotted it home with his favored left foot to record his second of the night and make it 3-0.

Briefly, Feyenoord thought they had found a lifeline. In the 59th minute, Nacho Ferri managed to put the ball past Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia, igniting brief celebrations among the travelling contingent. However, a VAR review swiftly intervened, ruling the effort out for offside and maintaining the three-goal cushion.

Not resting on their laurels, Barcelona continued to attack. In the 64th minute, Lamine Yamal added his name to the scoresheet in spectacular fashion. Winning a free kick in a dangerous position just outside the penalty arc, the teenage sensation stepped up and curled a majestic, unsaveable effort directly into the top corner, leaving the goalkeeper rooted to the spot and stretching the lead to 4-0.

Feyenoord’s persistence finally bore fruit in the 82nd minute when substitute Sem Steijn capitalized on a momentary lapse in concentration within the Barcelona backline to claw a goal back, making it 4-1. Yet, any hopes of an unlikely comeback were instantly extinguished just three minutes later. Lamine Yamal once again turned provider, picking out newly introduced Gabriel Jesus. The experienced striker made no mistake from close range, slotting home his debut goal for Barcelona in style to cap off a resounding 5-1 victory.

Supporting Data and Team Formations

The tactical setups deployed by both managers dictated the flow of the game. Hansi Flick opted for a dynamic, fluid formation that maximized the creative capacities of his midfield and the blistering pace of his wingers.

Barcelona lined up in a 4-2-3-1 variant featuring Joan Garcia in goal. The defensive line comprised Jules Kounde, Pau Cubarsi, Andreas Christensen, and Joao Cancelo. The double pivot in midfield was anchored by Rodri and Pedri, flanked by advanced playmaker Dani Olmo and wingers Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, supporting central forward Karim Adeyemi. Strategic substitutions in the second half saw the introduction of fresh legs, including Gavi, Anthony Gordon, Fermin Lopez, Marc Bernal, and Gabriel Jesus, maintaining the team’s relentless tempo.

Feyenoord, managed with tactical pragmatism, set up in a defensive block aimed at absorbing pressure and launching swift transitions. Tjark Ernst started in goal, protected by a backline of Givairo Read, Jeremiah St. Juste, Tsuyoshi Watanabe, and Mika Marmol. The midfield trio consisted of Gjivai Zechiel, Charles Vanhoutte, and Luciano Valente, while the attacking responsibilities fell to Anis Hadj Moussa, Nacho Ferri, and Javi Lopez. Subsequent tactical changes introduced Sem Steijn, Oussama Thargalline, Shaqueel van Persie, Goncalo Borges, and Tobias van de Elshout, though they were largely overwhelmed by Barcelona’s overwhelming offensive surges.

Post-Match Analysis and Tactical Implications

This commanding victory provides Barcelona with an ideal launchpad for the grueling months ahead in the UEFA Champions League. Under Hansi Flick, the team has exhibited a remarkable blend of tactical discipline and free-flowing attacking flair. The partnership between veteran brilliance and youthful exuberance—typified by the telepathic understanding between Raphinha and Lamine Yamal—presents a terrifying prospect for upcoming opponents across Europe.

Furthermore, the integration of new squad additions such as Gabriel Jesus scoring on his debut highlights the impressive depth currently at Flick’s disposal. In an expanded Champions League format where goal difference and squad rotation play pivotal roles in securing direct qualification to the knockout stages, a 5-1 home victory serves as both a psychological boost and a valuable statistical cushion.

For Feyenoord, the defeat serves as a harsh introduction to the elevated standards of Europe’s premier club competition. While the defensive frailties exposed at Camp Nou will require immediate rectification by the technical staff, the Eredivisie side showed flashes of resilience that they must harness in their upcoming fixtures if they are to harbor realistic ambitions of advancing past the league phase.

As the dust settles on opening night, Barcelona firmly establishes itself among the early frontrunners to lift the trophy, sending a resounding message to the rest of the continent that the Catalan club is once again a force to be reckoned with on the grandest stage of European football.

Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono Emphasizes National Unity Above Partisan Colors at Democratic Party 25th Anniversary

by Asro
written by Asro

JAKARTA — In a striking call for political harmony and national solidarity, Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono underscored that despite the rich mosaic of political colors across Indonesia, only the Red and White of the national flag ultimately matters when serving the interests of the nation and state. Addressing a packed arena of dignitaries, party members, and supporters, Yudhoyono delivered a keynote address that resonated well beyond partisan lines during the grand celebration of the Democratic Party’s silver jubilee.

The high-profile event, held at the Indonesia Arena in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, brought together prominent figures from across the political spectrum. Among the most notable attendees was President Prabowo Subianto, whose presence highlighted the strengthening ties between the ruling administration and the Democratic Party. Yudhoyono’s remarks were crafted to bridge historical political divides, offering a vision of cooperative governance where electoral competition gives way to collaborative nation-building.

The Celebration of the Democratic Party’s Silver Jubilee

The commemoration marked a significant milestone for the Democratic Party, commonly known as Partai Demokrat, celebrating 25 years since its founding in 2001. Over a quarter of a century, the party has experienced the entire spectrum of Indonesia’s democratic journey—from an emerging opposition movement to a ruling party under founder and former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, subsequent years in opposition, and its current status as a key component of the governing coalition.

The choice of the Indonesia Arena, one of the capital’s premier indoor venues, reflected the scale and ambition of the anniversary celebrations. Thousands of cadres dressed in the party’s signature blue attire filled the stands, creating an electric atmosphere. However, the overarching theme of the evening was not exclusivity or partisan triumph, but rather national inclusivity.

During his speech, Yudhoyono drew attention to the diverse political landscape of contemporary Indonesia, pointing out the various colors associated with the country’s numerous political organizations. He used this visual metaphor to address the inherent plurality of the world’s third-largest democracy.

"Of course, we each have our respective colors," Yudhoyono stated from the podium. "There is red, there is green, there is yellow, there is also blue, orange, white, and even different shades of light and dark blue. And I believe Mr. President is an expert at bringing all these colors together so they can sit at the same table."

This metaphorical nod to President Prabowo Subianto was met with applause from the audience. It served as an acknowledgment of the administration’s ongoing efforts to build a "Red and White Cabinet" and a broad-based coalition that transcends the strict boundaries of electoral alliances. Yudhoyono emphasized that while political parties naturally compete for votes and influence during election cycles, governance requires a synthesis of these diverse perspectives for the greater public good.

Defining the True Essence of Democracy

A central pillar of Yudhoyono’s address was a reflection on the health and maturity of Indonesian democracy. Moving beyond procedural definitions that reduce democracy merely to the mechanics of holding periodic elections, he argued that true democratic resilience is measured by post-election behavior and societal cohesion.

"Maintaining democracy is not just about elections," Yudhoyono told the audience. "Democracy is also about how we respect differences, maintain brotherhood, and continue to move forward. I repeat, remaining capable of working together after the competition has ended."

This sentiment carries significant weight within the context of recent Indonesian political history. The 2024 general elections were marked by intense competition among various ideological and pragmatic factions. However, the subsequent formation of Prabowo Subianto’s broad coalition government marked a departure from the stark polarization that characterized previous electoral cycles. Yudhoyono’s remarks reinforced this strategic shift, framing post-election reconciliation not merely as a political necessity, but as a moral imperative for national development.

By emphasizing the ability to work together after the ballots are counted, the Democratic Party leader sought to position his organization as a constructive, stabilizing force within the national legislature and executive branch. Analysts note that this rhetoric aligns closely with President Prabowo’s frequent calls for national reconciliation and "gotong royong" (mutual cooperation) among all elements of society.

Mutual Respect and Political Maturity

The anniversary event was also notable for the warm exchanges between the current administration and the leadership of the Democratic Party. Earlier in the proceedings, President Prabowo Subianto took the stage to deliver remarks that praised the Democratic Party and its founder, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

President Prabowo specifically highlighted the constructive opposition demonstrated by the Democratic Party during the decade when it was outside the ruling coalition (2014–2024). He commended SBY and the party leadership for maintaining political ethics, noting that even when they were not in power, they refrained from malicious mudslinging or undermining the legitimate government out of bitterness.

This mutual appreciation underscores a maturing political culture in Indonesia, where historical rivalries are increasingly supplanted by pragmatic cooperation. The acknowledgment from the head of state served to validate the Democratic Party’s strategic trajectory—from a decade of watchful opposition to an active partner in the current administration’s development agenda.

The presence of representatives from various other political parties at the Indonesia Arena further illustrated this theme of inclusivity. Leaders and delegates from both coalition and non-coalition backgrounds attended the silver jubilee, signaling a tacit agreement that national stability remains a shared responsibility.

Broader Implications for Indonesia’s Political Landscape

Yudhoyono’s speech and the overarching tone of the Democratic Party’s 25th-anniversary celebration carry several important implications for the future of Indonesian politics:

  1. Institutionalization of Coalition Politics: The emphasis on bringing different "colors" together reflects the structural reality of Indonesia’s multi-party presidential system. No single party can govern effectively without building extensive legislative coalitions. By framing this necessity as an ethical virtue of unity, leaders like Yudhoyono help legitimize compromise and coalition-building in the eyes of the electorate.

  2. Positioning for the Future: As the Democratic Party looks past its 25th anniversary, establishing an identity as a unifying, statesmanlike party rather than a purely parochial or oppositional entity is crucial for its long-term electoral prospects. AHY’s rhetoric projects national leadership ambitions while supporting the current administration’s stability.

  3. Democratic Resilience: Amid global concerns regarding democratic backsliding and political polarization, Indonesian political elites continue to signal a commitment to procedural continuity paired with substantive reconciliation. The ability of former rivals to share a stage and celebrate institutional milestones together reinforces the resilience of Indonesia’s democratic framework.

Conclusion

As the silver jubilee celebrations concluded at the Indonesia Arena, the prevailing takeaway was one of cautious optimism for Indonesia’s political trajectory. Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono’s address successfully connected the party’s historical journey with the contemporary imperative of national unity. By reminding the audience that the "Red and White" supersedes all partisan hues, the Democratic Party positioned itself as a champion of inclusive governance, setting a tone of cooperative statesmanship as the nation navigates its ongoing economic and social development goals.
