TikTok has submitted risk assessment report on TikTok Lite to EU
BRUSSELS :TikTok has submitted a risk assessment document on its recent app TikTok Lite to the European Commission, the firm said on Tuesday, warding off a probable comely.
The EU govt had on Monday given the ByteDance-owned firm 24 hours to provide the document, saying it has concerns about TikTok Lite’s reward programme and its doubtlessly addictive nature to teenagers.

It furthermore singled out TikTok’s failure to provide a risk assessment document on the recent app sooner than launching it in Spain and France this month.
The Commission said it became applying its Digital Services and products Act (DSA) which requires predominant online companies to carry out extra to address illegal and sinful allege on their platforms or risk fines of as much as 6 per cent of their global annual turnover.
“Now we have (submitted a document),” a TikTok spokesperson said.
The firm has unless Wednesday to demonstrate arguments on the reward programme that may maybe well maybe also resolve whether the Commission will temporarily hunch the programme unless it assesses whether it is safe for teenagers.
An even bigger downside for the firm is the Commission’s determination to delivery an investigation into TikTok Lite’s delivery in France and Spain and whether this breached DSA rules.
