Telespazio teams with Musk’s SpaceX for Starlink services
ROME : Telespazio, a joint enterprise between Italian defence and aerospace community Leonardo and French watch Thales, has signed an agreement with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to commercialise the services and products of its satellite unit Starlink, it said on Thursday.
SpaceX’s Starlink owns round 60 per cent of the roughly 7,500 satellites orbiting earth and is a dominant player in the satellite cyber net sphere.

Its satellites in low-earth orbit are designed to present broadband cyber net services and products globally, critically in areas, similar to rural ones, that are poorly served by numerous networks.
Under the deal, Telespazio will integrate Starlink into its reward connectivity network, made up of satellite and terrestrial choices.
The accord “further strengthens Telespazio’s portfolio in the satcom phase, allowing it to respond to the wants of institutions and strategic replace segments, such because the energy and maritime sectors,” said Alessandro Caranci, Telespazio’s Vice President for Satellite tv for computer Communications.
