Japan finance minister says he won’t rule out any steps to stem weak yen
TOKYO : Eastern Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki acknowledged on Tuesday that he would not rule out any measures to handle the yen’s weakening, echoing a warning from Japan’s high foreign money diplomat.
“Rapid foreign money moves are undesirable,” Suzuki urged newshounds after a cupboard meeting. “It is far a necessity for currencies to transfer stably, reflecting financial fundamentals.”

Suzuki declined to commentary on the likelihood of authorities intervening into the foreign money market to stem the yen weakness.
