Australia scraps ‘nuisance’ tariffs to remove red tape, lower living costs

SYDNEY: Australia said on Monday (Mar 11) it can well rob away import tariffs on a broad selection of issues including toothbrushes, toasters, hand tools and apparel in a uncover to catch rid of crimson tape for companies and bring reduction to households battling higher dwelling prices.

Eradicating the tariffs will streamline about A$8.5 billion (US$5.62 billion) price of annual exchange and set companies over A$30 million in compliance prices each 365 days, Treasurer Jim Chalmers said in an announcement.
