E-commerce firm Shopee to adjust services in Indonesia after antitrust violation
JAKARTA: E-commerce agency Shopee mentioned on Wednesday (Jun 26) it agreed to make adjustments to its providers and products in Indonesia after the country’s antitrust agency mentioned the platform had admitted to violating anti-monopoly strategies.
Indonesia’s antitrust agency, is named KPPU, mentioned in an announcement Shopee had admitted to having violated anti-competitors strategies by directing possibilities to distinct offer providers and products after being accused of the breaches final month.
“Shopee is step by step dedicated to complying with all appropriate rules and felony guidelines within the Republic of Indonesia in conducting our industry operations,” Radynal Nataprawira, Shopee Indonesia’s Head of Public Affairs mentioned in an announcement.
Shopee also mentioned it had proposed adjustments on its user interface to repeat compliance in offering simplest providers and products to its customers and in step with the feedback from KPPU.
Shopee, the market leader in Indonesia’s like a flash-rising e-commerce sector, is owned by Southeast Asian technology agency Sea Ltd.
Excluding for Shopee, KPPU has also been investigating the native unit of but every other e-commerce platform Lazada, the Southeast Asian arm of Alibaba.
